OMEGA has once again reached for the stars. In celebration of its lunar legacy, the Swiss watchmaker has introduced a bold new generation of the Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon, unveiling seven models that blend cutting-edge ceramic craftsmanship with the spacefaring spirit that first carried the Speedmaster to the Moon.
The collection pays tribute to one of humanity’s most defining moments — the Apollo 8 mission of 1968, when astronauts orbited the Moon for the first time. As command module pilot Jim Lovell radioed back the now-legendary words, “We’ll see you on the other side,” each crew member wore an OMEGA Speedmaster on their wrist. More than half a century later, that same pioneering energy propels OMEGA’s newest chapter in precision watchmaking.
A Legacy Reimagined
Twelve years after the debut of the original Dark Side of the Moon, this 2025 evolution represents the most significant advancement in the collection’s history.

Each of the seven new models reflects years of research and refinement in ceramic case construction, Co-Axial movement development, and aesthetic detailing that balances strength with elegance.
Technical Mastery, Perfected
At the heart of the new collection lies OMEGA’s mastery of ceramic craftsmanship. Each watch showcases a new bevelled polished ceramic finishing technique, achieving unprecedented depth and brilliance across every curve.

The cases retain the collection’s signature 44.25mm presence, but are now noticeably slimmer and more ergonomic, the result of four years of re-engineering and material refinement.

OMEGA also enhances its proprietary Liquidmetal™ technology, applied across bezels and crowns for improved durability and scratch resistance.

Each dial features a two-layer ceramic construction with laser-brushed detailing that plays with light — a subtle yet powerful nod to the textures of the lunar surface.
Four Distinct Aesthetic Identities
Each of the seven models embodies a different side of the Moon’s story — from pitch-black stealth to silvery lunar brilliance. Among the standout creations:

● The Black Edition Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9908 – A striking, manually wound expression featuring a matte black dial accented by a red central chronograph hand and minimalist grey markings.

● The Reimagined Dark Side of the Moon (Calibre 9900) – A refined reinterpretation of the 2013 original, with a slimmer silhouette, dual-layer ceramic dial, and a Liquidmetal™ tachymeter scale.

● The All-Black Model (Calibre 9900) – Featuring darkened movement components, enamel tachymeter, and laser-sandblasted dial textures, finished with diamond-polished indexes coated in Super-LumiNova.

● The Apollo 8 Tribute (Calibre 3869) – A poetic homage to the first crew to see the Moon’s far side. Its laser-ablated movement reveals a three-dimensional lunar landscape, showing the Moon’s near side through the skeletonised dial and the far side through the sapphire caseback — a breathtaking piece of wearable storytelling.
Strap Innovation
OMEGA also debuts new rubber and nylon strap designs across the range. The nylon straps now include a rubber lining for added comfort and durability, while the rubber straps feature embossed lunar surface textures on their underside — a tactile connection to the brand’s deep ties with space exploration.
A New Era of Speedmaster Excellence
With these latest releases, OMEGA reinforces its unmatched ability to fuse heritage and innovation. From the Apollo 8-inspired artistry to the precision of Master Chronometer-certified calibres, the Dark and Grey Side of the Moon 2025 collection stands as both a tribute to human exploration and a glimpse into the future of mechanical design.
