Bang & Olufsen has unveiled a new collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s renowned Tokyo-based design studio, Fragment Design, bringing a fresh perspective to four of the Danish audio brand’s most iconic products. Blending Fragment’s signature monochromatic aesthetic with Bang & Olufsen’s precision-crafted aluminium, the collection reinterprets the Beosound A1 portable speaker, Beoplay H100 headphones, Beosound Shape wall speaker system, and the legendary Beosystem 9000c.

Rather than a first-time partnership, the collection reflects a relationship that has evolved over more than three decades. Fujiwara, often regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary design and street culture, has long been a devoted Bang & Olufsen user. From his early days with the Beocenter 2300 to his continued admiration for the Beosystem 9000, the brand’s timeless blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and longevity has remained a constant source of inspiration.
“This collaboration has been a long-time dream of mine,” said Hiroshi Fujiwara, Founder of Fragment Design. “Since building my home around Bang & Olufsen’s integrated sound system in the 1990s, the brand has always been my first choice for audio. This collection feels like a meaningful continuation of our journey together.”

A pioneering DJ and cultural tastemaker, Fujiwara helped introduce Bang & Olufsen products to a new generation in Japan during the 1990s. That enduring connection now takes shape in a limited-edition collection that balances contemporary minimalism with the brand’s enduring design philosophy.
For the collaboration, Bang & Olufsen applied a highly specialised anodisation and hand-polishing process to select portable products for the first time. The intricate technique creates a deep, liquid-like black finish that serves as the perfect canvas for Fragment Design’s understated aesthetic.

“We applied a highly artisanal anodisation and polishing process for the first time on our portable products as part of the Fragment Design collaboration,” said Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, Senior Director of Design at Bang & Olufsen. “This meticulous approach brings Fragment’s signature black to life through a finish only achievable by hand.”
Each product in the collection features Fragment Design’s iconic double lightning-bolt logo. The Beoplay H100 showcases the emblem on the left ear cup, accented by polished aluminium details, while the Beosound A1 incorporates the motif beneath its speaker grille. The Beosound Shape configuration combines seven black and grey fabric tiles arranged in a subtle floral-inspired pattern, finished with a discreet aluminium logo tag.

At the pinnacle of the collection is the Beosystem 9000c, paired with Beolab 28 loudspeakers and a Beoremote One. The system combines matte black finishes with glossy natural aluminium accents, with both Bang & Olufsen and Fragment Design branding elegantly integrated into the CD clamper and speaker stands.
The Beoplay H100 is priced at €1,950 (US$2,400), while the Beosound A1 3rd Gen retails for €399 (US$475).
The Beosound Shape starts from €6,000 (US$7,100).
The exclusive made-to-order Beosystem 9000c package, priced at €60,000 (US$69,650), will remain available exclusively in Bang & Olufsen Japan.
