ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has officially launched its highly anticipated 2025 ROG Strix gaming laptop lineup in Singapore. The new range includes the ROG Strix SCAR 16, SCAR 18, G16, and G18 models—each engineered with cutting-edge hardware, redesigned chassis, and groundbreaking features. With this latest lineup, ROG is redefining what flagship gaming laptops can offer in terms of both performance and user experience.
At the core of the 2025 ROG Strix laptops are the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs. This powerhouse combination delivers next-level gaming performance, including real-time ray tracing and DLSS 3 for smoother gameplay. With support for up to 64GB DDR5-5600 RAM and 4TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, the Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 models are well-equipped to meet the needs of both competitive gamers and content creators.
To ensure these high-performance machines stay cool under pressure, ROG has introduced an innovative thermal system that includes a sandwiched heatsink design, full-length vapour chambers, and Tri-Fan Technology. The new design maximises airflow while maintaining lower noise levels and extends the longevity of internal components with integrated dust filters. These enhancements allow the laptops to sustain up to 240W of power output, giving users uncompromised performance even during the most intense gaming sessions.
Visual performance has also been elevated with the introduction of ROG Nebula HDR Displays on the SCAR models. These Mini LED displays offer up to 1200 nits of peak brightness, a 240Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, ensuring immersive, vivid visuals in any environment. The Strix G16 and G18 come equipped with standard ROG Nebula Displays, also boasting 2.5K resolution and ultra-smooth refresh rates. To further enhance visual clarity, ROG has integrated Ambient Contrast Ratio (ACR) technology, which reduces reflections by 55% and improves contrast up to 4.5 times, making it easier for gamers to spot enemies and enjoy deeper image quality.
In terms of design, the 2025 Strix laptops stand out with their sleeker chassis, reduced seams, and the world’s first full-surround RGB lightbar, inspired by racetrack loops for a floating visual effect. The SCAR models take things up a notch with AniMe Vision, a customisable LED matrix featuring 810 LEDs that allow users to create personalised lighting animations. When turned off, the AniMe Vision transforms into a stealthy black chromium ROG logo, combining bold expression with subtle sophistication.
The laptops also feature enhanced connectivity with Thunderbolt™ 5, HDMI 2.1, 2.5G Ethernet, and WiFi 7 support—making them ideal for both gaming and productivity setups. Notably, all the I/O ports are conveniently located on the sides of the chassis for easy access during gameplay or streaming.
A major innovation in this year’s lineup is the introduction of tool-less upgradeability. For the first time on a gaming laptop, users can remove the bottom panel without tools using a single lever, making RAM and SSD upgrades fast and fuss-free. ROG has also carried over its Q-latch system from motherboards, eliminating the need for screws in the SSD slots. This makes the laptops more accessible to both beginners and experienced users who want to upgrade or clean their machines with ease.
The 2025 ROG Strix series is now available for pre-order in Singapore, starting from S$4,899, at the ROG Store, ASUS Online Store, and authorised retailers. For more information, visit rog.asus.com
