Glashütte Original Introduces Sapphire Crystal Case Back for SeaQ Models

Glashütte Original is answering the call of watch enthusiasts by introducing a sapphire crystal case back option for its popular stainless steel and bicolour SeaQ models. This addition provides owners with the opportunity to admire the intricate craftsmanship of SeaQ’s in-house Calibre 39-11 movement while retaining the robust water resistance of up to 20 bar.

For those who already own a SeaQ with a closed case back, Glashütte Original is offering a unique service to replace the existing case with the sapphire crystal version, giving these timepieces a fresh perspective without needing to invest in a new watch.

At the heart of the SeaQ lies the Calibre 39-11, a movement that reflects the German manufactory’s exceptional standards of technical precision and aesthetic design. With the new sapphire crystal case back, this inner beauty is now visible, allowing owners to appreciate the meticulous details of Glashütte’s horological artistry.
Despite the open display, the SeaQ maintains its rugged functionality, including its 20-bar water resistance, making it a reliable companion for outdoor adventures and underwater explorations alike.

Since its launch in 2019, the SeaQ has been a versatile timepiece that bridges tradition and modernity. It carries the legacy of the legendary Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 from 1969 while embracing contemporary aesthetics and functionality. With the new sapphire crystal case back option, the SeaQ continues to evolve, offering owners the choice between a traditional closed case back or the modern, transparent appeal of a sapphire crystal display.

From December 2024, watch enthusiasts can select their preferred case back option when purchasing a new SeaQ. Existing SeaQ owners can also elevate their timepieces with the sapphire crystal case back upgrade, ensuring their watch keeps pace with their evolving tastes.
