Bang & Olufsen proudly announces the launch of the Beosystem 9000c, a restored and reimagined version of the iconic Beosound 9000 CD player from the 1990s, now paired with modern Beolab 28 speakers. This revival is the second project in Bang & Olufsen’s recreated classics series, following the successful Beogram 4000c turntable.
“With our Recreated Classics series, we are showcasing Bang & Olufsen’s unique capabilities in sound, design, and craftsmanship. A second-life product can be just as attractive as a new one, and a high-quality item like the Beosound 9000 doesn’t need an end date,” said Mads Kogsgaard Hansen, Head of Product Circularity & Portfolio Planning.
Bang & Olufsen has sourced 200 original Beosound 9000 units, meticulously restoring and re-machining each component at their Struer factory. The design has been updated with a Cosmic Black aluminium back plate, contrasting with Natural Aluminium on the control panel, enhancing the original graphic edge.
Designed by David Lewis, the Beosound 9000 first introduced in 1996 features a six-CD changer with built-in AM/FM radio. Its unique ‘autovisuality’ design concept displays music visibly, inspired by a record store layout. The Beosystem 9000c maintains this concept, with swift, soundless CD changer movement and a motorised glass lid.
The Beosystem 9000c also integrates modern streaming capabilities with Beolab 28 speakers. The speakers feature curtains that slide open to indicate beam width mode, offering narrow or wide listening experiences. Users can control the system via Beoremote One, the speakers themselves, or a smartphone, with connectivity options including Airplay 2, Chromecast, and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Beosystem 9000c, priced at 50,000 EUR, will be available in a limited edition of 200 units, at select Bang & Olufsen stores worldwide.
