Zoom Into the Moments with Canon Powershot ZOOM

Technology is getting smaller, but innovation continues to grow. Devices have evolved much like Matt Damon’s film, Downsizing. TVs shrunk from big boxes to a slim razor-thin TV, heavy speakers became portable, and now, cameras have shrunk into pocket-sized digital monocular cameras. That is the Canon Powershot ZOOM, a handy device perfect for taking photos and videos on the go, even if you are far away.

To kickstart, the Canon Powershot ZOOM lets you zoom into three modes (100m, 400m, and 800m magnification), and can retain details well in the first two zoom settings. If you are wondering what you can do with 800m digital magnification to achieve what your phone may not be able to do, you can try shooting airplanes or animals as a start. Autofocus and image stabilization come in handy, especially when you have decent lighting conditions. AF comes in two modes, face detection, and tracking, and single-point AF. Continuous AF can also be switched on and off.

With the shape of a petite, modern camcorder, it is unsurprising that you can record videos too, and the camera comes with a stereo microphone to record sounds. You would not be able to connect external speakers or preview with sound, but you are likely to be on the go with the Canon Powershot ZOOM and the device gets the job done quickly and easily.

A single charge provides approximately 60 minutes of movie record time and 150 still shots. Whether you are on a hike or attending an event, the battery life leaves you with enough time to snap throughout a whole day without charging.

To wrap up, while I love the mirrorless Canon cameras and they are still my go-to, I can see why Canon Powershot ZOOM is a good choice for a simple day out where you want minimal baggage and do not need pro-level photos and videos. Weighing only 145g, you can bring along the camera conveniently even without a bag! You can also operate the PowerShot ZOOM fully with just one hand with the ergonomic design, and transfer photos to your phone with the Camera Connect app.

If you have two pockets on you, leave one for your phone and one for the Canon Powershot ZOOM.
