Back to School with the Fujitsu UH-X

Vanessa with the Fujitsu UH-X

It has been 9 months since I last went to school after my gap semester, and boy, have things changed! Some of our lessons have shifted online to what we call a hybrid classroom (half the class on Zoom, half in class), and I have never needed my laptop and earbuds more. My choice of a laptop to conquer a new academic semester? The all-new Fujitsu UH-X.

My Incredibly Lightweight Yet Durable Friend

In my previous article, I shared about how the Fujitsu UH-X helped me tide through the work-from-home period. Back when I was home all day, the weight of my laptop did not really matter to me. But now that I am out and about every day, I truly appreciate the beauty of a lightweight laptop. The Fujitsu UH-X weighs an unbelievable 778g, and I have no complaints carrying it in my handbag during the hour and a half journey to school. When I let my friends have a go at carrying the laptop, they were all stunned at how it could be half the weight of their own laptops (or even their tablets)! They voiced concern that such a lightweight laptop couldn’t be all that durable. However, after multiple pressure tests and drop tests, I discovered that the lithium alloy that makes up the laptop shell is much more hardy than it seems!

A Must-Have for Students

For school, I save notes on Google Drive and on an internal hard disk, and large files in thumb drives. I really appreciate the fact that the UH-X is equipped with plenty of USB ports. There are two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, and even an Ethernet jack. For heavy-duty users, I recommend you to go for the model with 1TB of storage, or else 512GB should suffice for normal folks.

Tutorials and examinations can be really stressful, especially when I am overloading with additional modules this semester. The last thing I want is a laggy computer that gives me an additional headache or an unfriendly user experience that slows down my productivity. I was really glad to find out that the UH-X has a full suite of innovative features for great user experience, including facial recognition technology supported by Windows Hello and easy controls for multi-tasking. This is especially crucial when I have to toggle between Zoom for class participation and Google Docs for note-taking and lecture slides. A 10th Gen Intel Core Processor is a bonus as well for minimum buffering time. When going about my tutorials and lectures is this easy, studying does not feel as dreadful.

I am a month into school and the Fujitsu UH-X has been serving me very well. Year 3 of NUS Business will be incredibly hectic and everyone is still adjusting to a whole new learning environment. But with the right tools, learning becomes effortless!
