OPPO Announces Launch of Its New Reno Series, Set To Inspire A New Generation Of Innovative Creators

OPPO announced the launch of their new Reno series of phones, set to inspire a new generation of innovative creators. The launch comes off the back of the brand’s recent ‘Imagine, A Step Closer’ press launch in Shanghai earlier this month.

Consisting of the standard edition Reno and the Reno 10x Zoom, models in the new range are fitted with panoramic display panels and showcase integrated, flawless bodies. With its 10 times hybrid zoom, the Reno 10x Zoom kicks off the company’s creative vision to inspire Singaporeans to find new ways to express their creativity.

A Concealed Design that Inspires Organised Beauty

As its first product moving into the new decade, OPPO achieved a breakthrough in the design of the Reno series. Making use of an invisible form of organisation, the brand created a new design language that proposes the idea of creative concealment. This gives the new Reno series its unique seamless form that sets it apart from its predecessors.

The Reno series features a full frontal panoramic front display – the Reno standard version packs a 6.4-inch OLED display and the Reno 10x Zoom, a 6.6-inch OLED display. The bezel of the Reno series measures a mere 3.5mm, resulting in impressive screen ratio of up to 93.1% for even greater visual enjoyment. It also comes with the latest luminescent material, which spans the entire DCI-P3 colour spectrum. Besides allowing the display to be clearer and more vibrant, the device is also rendered more power-efficient. Reno is equipped with sixth generation Corning Gorilla glass further increases the durability of this display.

Front and back of the OPPO Reno series

To create a seamless back with no bulges, OPPO has placed the phone’s rear camera completely under a single piece of glass. The wide curvature of the 3D glass panels on each of its four sides makes the phone fit nicely in one’s hand.

Having adopted a brand-new condensation grading process which produces a more layered, three-dimensional gradient effect, the Reno series is more aesthetically pleasing than ever. In addition, its Ocean Green model makes use of a localised AG fog surface etching process to achieve double texture on its glass panels – an industry first.

It is OPPO’s creative focus that has allowed the Reno series to achieve such an integrated and flawless exterior design. Within the Reno, this comes in the form of an innovative side rotation elevation design allowing the brand to conceal the front camera, soft light, back flash within the device. The entire mechanism requires just 0.8 seconds for the camera to appear and the smoothness of its functionality creates not the slightest sound even in the quietest of nights. The Reno also comes equipped with a new generation light-sensitive fingerprint system. A new lighting system and algorithm improves fingerprint-unlocking success rate by 20 – 30%, and improves unlocking speeds by 28.5%.

10x Hybrid zoom, Furthering your Vision

OPPO has always been known to place the highest priority on its camera. This comes through even more so with the Reno which is fitted with Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensors for outstanding night scene photography.

Furthermore, with its all-new upgraded Ultra Night Mode 2.0, it elevates the clarity and brightness of images through composite multi-frame noise reduction and multi-frame HDR technology. The Reno 10x Zoom greatly reduces the processing time required for night scene photography to just 2 or 3 seconds. The combined utilisation of both hardware and software allows the Reno to capture real, bright colours and night scene photographs with distinct gradation and texture.

The Reno 10x Zoom also boasts 10 times hybrid zoom technology. It does so through a combination of three different zoom lenses: The 48MP super definition main camera lens, 13MP telephoto camera lens and the 8MP 120° wide-angle camera lens. This provides users with a whole new range of possibilities when it comes to picture compositions by providing effective focal lengths that range from super wide-angle, telephoto lens to the commonly used 16mm – 160mm focal lengths.

To fit the telephoto lens in this light-frame device, the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom incorporated three major innovations – first, the horizontal arrangement of the periscope telephoto lens, second, the reduction of the lens thickness with D-Cut technology, and last, its common motor design that allows two originally independent components, the main lens and wide-angle lens, to be combined into one thus reducing the required interior space.

Zoom function on the Reno 10x Zoom Series

The entire combination of the telephoto lens and periscope mode measures only 5.75mm in thickness, facilitating the possibility of both the high zoom and light device frame. To ensure the quality of long zoom photography, the Reno 10x Zoom makes use of a dual OIS optical anti-shake design in its main camera lens and telephoto lens to effectively mitigate the impact of device vibration, allowing for clearer photographs.

OPPO is set to work with Magnum in its OPPO x magnum creative imaging plans to create a professional interaction platform where mobile device users and photography enthusiasts worldwide can come together to display their talent and creativity.
