RECAP: The Huawei London Keynote

Huawei completed its much-anticipated keynote event in London earlier this week and just in case you missed it, here’s a round up of what transpired.

Huawei MATE 20 SERIES

The mobile phone giant officially announced the launch of the Mate 20 Series, which comprises of four devices: Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 20 RS.

This range of mobile phones is built with the Kirin 980 chip, fast-charging, large batteries, a Matrix Camera System which includes Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens, a glass back with Hyper Optical Pattern, and the Android P-based EMUI 9 operating system.

The Mate 20 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to support the 4.5G LTE Cat. 21 standard, which allows for download speeds of up to 1.4Gbps. It also supports the world’s fastest Wi-Fi connection speeds and dual-band (L1+L5) GPS positioning technology.

The Mate 20 Series also features an AI Portrait Colour video mode. Users can isolate human subjects and desaturate the colours around them. The AI Spotlight Reel identifies clips with a shared theme and auto-generates a montage, made entirely of highlights.

Along with the Mate 20 Pro, the PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 20 RS supports 3D Face Unlock. All devices carry a FullView display with a high screen-to-body ratio and can be comfortably used with a single hand.

Huawei Watch GT

The Huawei Watch GT is packed with a battery that can last up to two weeks with smart features such as, scientific sleep monitoring, fitness tracking, information assistance, heart rate monitor, GPS and more.

It is lightweight, scratch-resistance and accurate readings suit athletes and casual smartwatch aficionados.
