World’s Most Celebrated and Endearing Social Humanoid Robot Sophia was Back in Singapore and Chose The Capitol Kempinski Hotel for Her Stay

What do The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore and Sophia, the world’s most celebrated and endearing social humanoid robot, have in common?

An appreciation for beautiful design and cutting-edge technology, it seems.

Welcome Back, Sophia

The world’s first robot citizen was recently back in the Lion City and chose the beautiful The Capitol Kempinski Hotel for her stay, one of the latest luxury properties to open its doors in Singapore.

She was hosted by local radio DJ duo Muttons, comprising Vernon A and Justin Ang, who introduced her to the landmark hotel and its overall development, the Capitol Singapore – encompassing a premium retail mall Capitol Piazza, the legendary Capitol Theatre, and an exclusive Eden Residences Capitol.

Sophia got to know in better depth the dining options at Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski, which includes exciting international dining concepts like Frieda Restaurant, Berthold Delikatessen and Capitol Milk Bar, as well as the upcoming Chalerm Thai, La Scala Ristorante and El Teatro Tapas. In The Capitol Kempinski Hotel, she also popped by 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung and The Bar at 15 Stamford.

During her tour of the Capitol Theatre, a modern revamp of the Art Deco icon from the 1930s in the old Capitol Building, she was particularly impressed by the technological features of the theatre, that could flatten out in minutes, transforming from an auditorium into a level-floored ballroom event space.

At the end of her tour, Sophia shared poignant insights on how technology and new generation robots like herself can change the landscape of the hospitality and Food and Beverage industries.

Sophia first wowed the world in 2016 as the brainchild of Hong Kong based company Hanson Robotics Limited with her ability to express a broad range of human emotions through facial expressions and gestures and engage in delightful conversations. She has since been covered in many high-profile interviews, impressing each and every one of her interviewers.

She is the world’s first robot citizen and an Innovation Champion of the United Nations Development Program in Asia Pacific. Through her cognitive abilities, she seems to have found a match in taste in design and level of technology in The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore and the Capitol Singapore.
