Apple is taking its popular professional laptop to the next level with the introduction of the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip. Designed for students, business professionals and content creators, the latest model brings significant improvements in processing power, graphics performance and on-device artificial intelligence, while retaining the premium design and impressive battery endurance that have made the MacBook Pro a favourite among demanding users.
Available in space black and silver, the new MacBook Pro promises a smoother experience across everything from everyday productivity and multitasking to video editing, 3D modelling and AI-powered creative workflows. With faster wireless connectivity, improved storage performance and macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple is positioning the M6 MacBook Pro as a versatile machine for both work and creativity.
M6 Delivers Faster Performance for Work and Creativity
At the heart of the new MacBook Pro is Apple’s M6 chip, featuring a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, each with two additional cores compared to the previous M5 generation.

According to Apple, the upgraded GPU delivers up to 30 per cent faster graphics performance, making demanding tasks such as photo editing, 3D rendering and gaming more responsive. The chip also features a third-generation ray-tracing engine and Dynamic Caching technology, helping optimise graphics performance and memory usage.
For developers, the faster CPU brings improvements to code compilation, while creative professionals can benefit from shorter rendering times and smoother editing workflows.
Apple claims that the M6 MacBook Pro delivers up to 1.3 times faster ray-traced rendering performance in Blender compared to the M5 model, alongside up to 1.2 times faster image processing in Affinity.
Users upgrading from an older M1 MacBook Pro will notice even greater improvements, with up to 11.7 times faster ray-traced rendering and 2.5 times faster project builds in Xcode.
The laptop comes with 16GB of unified memory as standard, configurable up to 32GB, and memory bandwidth of up to 170GB/s. This allows users to work with demanding applications and larger projects while keeping multiple tasks running smoothly.
A More Powerful Platform for AI
Artificial intelligence is one of the biggest areas of improvement in the M6 generation.

The new MacBook Pro features Neural Accelerators in every GPU core, working alongside a Dual 16-core Neural Engine to accelerate AI workloads such as image generation, upscaling and large language model processing.
Apple says the M6 delivers up to 25 per cent faster on-device AI workloads compared to M5, while its Neural Engine offers up to 1.9 times faster performance.
For users experimenting with local AI models, the improvements are particularly noteworthy. The new MacBook Pro can deliver up to 13 times faster time-to-first-token performance for large language model prompts compared to the M1 MacBook Pro, according to Apple’s testing.

This makes the laptop a more capable platform for developers, researchers and creative professionals who want to experiment with generative AI without relying entirely on cloud-based services.
Running AI models locally can also offer greater control over sensitive information, as supported tasks can be processed directly on the device.
Siri AI Makes macOS More Intelligent.
The new MacBook Pro comes with macOS 27 Golden Gate, bringing the next generation of Apple Intelligence and a more conversational Siri AI experience.

Instead of relying on specific commands, Siri AI is designed to understand natural questions, provide follow-up responses and help users complete tasks across supported applications.
For example, users can ask Siri to locate information from emails, messages or photos, search for answers through Spotlight or perform actions across different apps.
One particularly useful feature is Visual Intelligence, which allows users to ask Siri questions about content displayed on their screen. Whether examining a chart, reviewing a document or browsing a webpage, users can request explanations or additional information without switching applications.
Siri can also assist with writing and editing text across supported apps, while Safari gains AI-powered features such as automatic tab organisation, website change notifications and the ability to create custom extensions through natural-language descriptions.
For those who frequently automate repetitive tasks, Shortcuts can now generate supported workflows based on a simple written description.
Siri AI is available in beta through macOS 27.2, with certain capabilities subject to language, regional availability and usage limits.
Up to 24 Hours of Battery Life
Despite the improvements in performance, the new MacBook Pro continues to prioritise portability and battery efficiency.
Apple claims up to 24 hours of battery life, the longest offered in a Mac, allowing users to work, study or create throughout the day without constantly searching for a power outlet.
For those upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro, this represents up to four additional hours of battery life, while users coming from older Intel-based models could see an improvement of up to 14 hours.
The laptop is also designed to maintain consistent performance whether plugged in or running on battery power, making it suitable for professionals who regularly work away from their desks.
When a quick recharge is needed, fast charging allows the battery to reach up to 50 per cent in approximately 30 minutes when used with a compatible higher-wattage USB-C power adapter, such as Apple’s 96W model.
Actual battery endurance will vary depending on applications, settings and usage.
A Stunning Liquid Retina XDR Display
The 14-inch MacBook Pro retains its impressive Liquid Retina XDR display, delivering vibrant colours, deep blacks and exceptional contrast for both creative work and entertainment.

With up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, the display is particularly well suited for editing high-dynamic-range photographs and videos.
A nano-texture display option is also available for users who frequently work in brightly lit environments, helping reduce reflections and glare.
Video calls are handled by a 12MP Centre Stage camera, which automatically keeps users framed as they move. Desk View adds a top-down perspective of the workspace, making it useful for online presentations, demonstrations and collaborative projects.
Complementing the camera is a studio-quality three-microphone array and a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio support, delivering clear communication and immersive sound for music, movies and entertainment.
Faster Connectivity and More Ways to Connect
The new MacBook Pro also introduces Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, bringing improved wireless performance and lower latency when used with compatible networks and devices.

For professionals who rely on external accessories, the laptop offers a versatile selection of ports, including three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, a headphone jack and MagSafe 3 charging.
Support for up to two external displays allows users to expand their workspace, making it easier to manage multiple applications or work on complex creative projects.
Storage performance has also been improved, helping large files load more quickly and reducing waiting times when exporting projects or working with demanding AI applications.
The MacBook Pro continues to work closely with the iPhone through Apple’s Continuity ecosystem. Users can transfer files, share photos, hand off tasks between devices and access supported iPhone functions directly from their Mac.
Designed for Everyday Durability
Beyond performance, Apple has also placed emphasis on durability and sustainability.
The new MacBook Pro features an enclosure made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium, while its overall construction incorporates 45 per cent recycled content.
