De Bethune has unveiled the DB25Vxs Silver Moon, a refined evolution of the DB25L that reinterprets one of the Manufacture’s most iconic designs through a slimmer case, reworked dial and enhanced movement architecture. Combining classical watchmaking influences with the brand’s signature innovations, the new timepiece continues De Bethune’s exploration of astronomy, craftsmanship and contemporary horology.

Positioned within the DB25 collection, the DB25Vxs Silver Moon reflects the Manufacture’s enduring commitment to grand watchmaking traditions. Originally launched in 2009, the DB25L became known for its understated elegance and balanced design language. The new DB25Vxs revisits that spirit in a more compact 40 mm format, introducing a cleaner and more restrained aesthetic while preserving the essence of the original.

At the centre of the watch is De Bethune’s celebrated spherical moon phase complication, one of the Manufacture’s defining innovations. First introduced in 2004 on the DB15, the spherical moon transformed the traditional moon phase display into a more dimensional and intuitive interpretation. Inspired by astronomical clocks and Leonardo da Vinci’s sketches in the Madrid Codex, the complication was designed to mirror the natural observation of the night sky.

The moon itself is crafted from palladium and flame-blued steel using a traditional spirit lamp technique, emerging against a blued titanium sky scattered with gold stars. Beyond its visual appeal, the mechanism is engineered for exceptional precision, requiring correction by only a single lunar day every 112 years.

Powering the DB25Vxs Silver Moon is a hand-wound movement visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Finished by hand, the calibre features De Bethune’s signature decorative techniques, including Côtes De Bethune, mirror-polished steel and blued polished titanium components. The movement also incorporates the Manufacture’s latest technical developments, reinforcing the watch’s focus on both performance and refinement.
For Denis Flageollet, each De Bethune creation represents an ongoing process of evolution.
The De Bethune DB25Vxs Silver Moon retails for SGD 144,000, including tax.
