The company also showcased Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a visionary electric hypercar concept created for the legendary Gran Turismo racing franchise, highlighting Xiaomi’s growing ambitions beyond consumer electronics

A major highlight of the announcement was the evolution of Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica. The partnership has now progressed from a joint R&D framework to a Strategic Co-creation Model, reflecting a deeper collaboration across hardware, software, and imaging technologies. Built under this new model, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi aim to redefine mobile photography by combining Leica’s century-long imaging expertise with Xiaomi’s advanced smartphone engineering.

Refined Design with Xiaomi Guardian Structure
The Xiaomi 17 Series adopts a minimalist design that emphasises elegance and professional aesthetics. Clean lines, smooth edges, and Golden Arc curves deliver a refined look while ensuring a comfortable in-hand feel. Ultra-thin bezels, achieved through advanced LIPO manufacturing techniques, also create an immersive, near-borderless display.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the thinnest and lightest Xiaomi Ultra model yet, measures just 8.29mm thick and weighs as little as 218.4g. It features an all-flat design with ultra-thin bezels and a redesigned camera housing, and is available in White, Black, and Starlit Green. Durability is reinforced with Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which includes Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 with improved drop resistance, a high-strength fibreglass back, an aluminium alloy frame, and IP68 protection against dust and water.

Xiaomi 17

The more compact Xiaomi 17 measures 8.06mm in thickness and weighs only 191g, while still delivering powerful performance, advanced imaging, and a robust battery. Available in Venture Green, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue, and Black, the device features a redesigned camera module, ultra-slim 1.18mm bezels, and a durable build with a 6M42aluminiumm frame, Xiaomi Shield Glass, and IP68 protection.

Xiaomi × Leica: Elevating Mobile Photography
Continuing its collaboration with Leica, Xiaomi equips the Xiaomi 17 Series with advanced imaging technologies designed to perform across a wide range of lighting conditions. Leica UltraPure optical lens treatments help reduce reflections and optical interference, ensuring cleaner light reaches the sensor for more accurate and detailed images. AI-powered features such as AI Creativity Assistant and Xiaomi HyperConnect also enable seamless file sharing, multi-camera setups, and flexible editing workflows.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra introduces Xiaomi’s first 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, the Light Fusion 1050L, which significantly improves full-well capacity and next-generation HDR performance. It is paired with a Leica 200MP 75–100mm telephoto camera featuring mechanical optical zoom and Leica APO optical design for exceptional image clarity with minimal ghosting or fringing. With advanced sensor technology, the camera can extend to a 400mm equivalent focal length, enabling impressive long-range photography. For video, the device supports cinema-grade recording, including Dolby Vision or ACES Log recording at up to 4K 120fps on both the main and telephoto cameras.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 delivers a versatile imaging experience built around the Light Fusion 950 sensor with a 1/1.31-inch size and 2.4μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, offering up to 13.5EV dynamic range. It also features a Leica 60mm floating telephoto lens with 5x optical-level zoom, 10cm macro photography, and 20x AI Ultra Zoom. A new 50MP front camera improves autofocus for clearer self-portraits, while video recording supports 4K 60fps Dolby Vision and Log capture.

For photography enthusiasts, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro further enhances the shooting experience. The accessory features a slip-resistant PU leather grip inspired by classic Leica cameras, an integrated 2000mAh battery, a detachable shutter button, and a dedicated Fastshot interface for greater control when capturing photos.

Flagship Performance and Next-Generation Battery Technology
Powering the Xiaomi 17 Series is the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, featuring the 3rd-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU, next-generation Adreno GPU, and advanced Hexagon NPU for powerful AI processing. The platform is designed to handle demanding tasks such as high-resolution video capture, intensive gaming, and multitasking with ease.

The series also introduces a new generation Xiaomi Surge Battery with an industry-leading 16% silicon content, improving energy density and longevity. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra houses a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging, while the Xiaomi 17 features an even larger 6330mAh battery with 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. Both models also support 100W PD-PPS charging, offering broader compatibility with third-party chargers.

Enhanced Display for Clarity and Efficiency
To match its powerful imaging capabilities, the Xiaomi 17 Series features custom OLED displays with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright environments. The 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate and DC dimming technology deliver smooth visuals while reducing eye strain during prolonged use.

The devices also debut Xiaomi’s M10 display panel, offering improved brightness and power efficiency. On the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the new HyperRGB OLED subpixel layout enhances clarity while optimising energy usage, further reinforcing Xiaomi’s reputation for vibrant, high-quality displays.

Leica Leitzphone Powered by Xiaomi
Celebrating Leica’s 100th anniversary, the companies have also co-developed the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi, combining Leica’s iconic design philosophy with Xiaomi’s advanced smartphone technology. The device features a durable aluminium alloy body with a nickel-anodised finish and a Leica-tuned user interface designed to deliver an intuitive yet professional photography experience.

One standout feature is the Leica Camera Ring, a physical dial with a knurled finish that replicates the tactile feel of a traditional zoom lens. The device also introduces Leica Essential Mode, recreating the photographic style of classic Leica cameras such as the Leica M9 and Leica M3 using MONOPAN 50 film simulation.

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo Concept
Expanding beyond smartphones, Xiaomi also revealed Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar concept developed for the Gran Turismo racing simulation series in collaboration with Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Designed by Xiaomi EV’s design team, the futuristic vehicle features a teardrop-shaped cabin and advanced aerodynamic elements that achieve a drag coefficient of 0.29 while delivering high downforce performance.

Xiaomi also showcased Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a visionary electric hypercar concept created for the legendary Gran Turismo racing franchise, highlighting Xiaomi’s growing ambitions beyond consumer electronics

The interior introduces Xiaomi’s “Sofa Racer” concept, where the dashboard, seats, and door panels form a unified cocoon-like space around the driver. Integrated with Xiaomi’s Human × Car × Home ecosystem, the vehicle uses intelligent systems such as Xiaomi Pulse to interact with the driver through light and sound, creating a more immersive driving experience.
