Canon has expanded its EOS R mirrorless lineup with two major additions: the EOS R6 Mark III, a new full-frame camera designed for creators seeking higher resolution.

And advanced speed, and the RF45mm f/1.2 STM, a bright, compact prime lens that brings professional-grade bokeh to a wider audience.
Succeeding 2023’s EOS R6 Mark II, the EOS R6 Mark III boasts a new 32.5MP sensor that delivers exceptional detail and greater cropping flexibility.

The camera maintains rapid shooting speeds of up to 40 fps (electronic) and 12 fps (mechanical), while introducing a pre-continuous shooting feature that captures up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed—perfect for capturing split-second action.

Enhanced autofocus algorithms ensure more accurate subject tracking, while the Register People Priority function, inherited from Canon’s flagship EOS R1, lets users prioritise specific faces in group scenes.
For videographers, the R6 Mark III represents a leap forward. It supports 7K 60p internal RAW recording, 3:2 Open Gate recording, and simultaneous proxy recording for streamlined post-production. It adds Canon Log 2, HLG gamma, and Cinema EOS Custom Picture profiles, along with waveform monitoring, false colour, and zebras for precise exposure control. Users can even apply instant colour filters or capture slow and fast motion clips directly in-camera, making it a versatile hybrid tool for both stills and video.

Canon has also introduced the RF45mm f/1.2 STM, the brand’s most affordable f/1.2 lens and the first of its kind outside the professional L-series. Offering a natural 45mm perspective (or 72mm equivalent on APS-C bodies like the EOS R50), the lens is ideal for portraits, street scenes, and low-light photography.

Despite its bright aperture, it weighs only 346g, thanks to PMo aspherical elements and gear-type STM focusing.

The result is smooth autofocus, creamy bokeh, and impressive sharpness even when stopped down.
Together, the EOS R6 Mark III and RF45mm f/1.2 STM deliver a powerful yet cost-efficient setup for creators. The lens’s wide aperture complements the camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II and 5-axis image stabilisation, enabling sharp, clean results in any lighting condition.

According to Andrew Koh, Senior Vice President and Head of Singapore Operations Group at Canon Singapore, the new camera-lens duo “redefines what creators can achieve” by bringing professional-grade imaging within reach of enthusiasts, inspiring them to capture, craft, and share their stories with greater quality and flexibility.
