In the world of haute horlogerie, where complexity often competes with aesthetics, the RRCHF, Rexhep Rexhepi’s first flyback chronograph, takes a different path. Defined by precision and shaped by restraint, it is a watch where mechanics and clarity exist in perfect balance.

From the outset, the project was guided by a singular ambition: thinness. Achieving a case profile of just 9.7 mm required a complete rethinking of traditional chronograph construction. The result is a fully integrated, hand-wound calibre designed from the ground up, rather than built as a modular add-on. This integrated approach not only enhances performance but also allows for a more refined and cohesive design, from the architecture of the movement to the curvature of the hands.

The dial reflects the same philosophy of clarity and intention. Drawing inspiration from the Chronomètre Contemporain, it features alternating sector scales, combined with a layout reminiscent of vintage pocket-watch chronographs. The central chronograph seconds hand dominates the display, extending fully across the dial with a subtle downward curve for enhanced legibility. Hours and minutes are deliberately separated into a sub-dial at 12 o’clock, reinforcing the watch’s focus on timing precision.

Crafted using traditional grand feu enamel, the dial exudes depth and permanence. Tinted sapphire counters add a modern touch, offering a discreet view of the meticulously hand-finished movement beneath. Every detail is considered, ensuring that beauty never compromises function.

Externally, the RRCHF continues its theme of restrained elegance. The handmade case, inspired by mid-century design, features a double-stepped bezel and sharply bevelled lugs and pushers. Even the screw-down caseback is carefully indexed to align perfectly with the vertical axis of the case, a subtle yet telling mark of craftsmanship. The rose gold 5N version is paired with a black enamel dial produced in-house, further underscoring the brand’s commitment to artisanal excellence.

At the core of the RRCHF is a flyback chronograph paired with a jumping-minute counter, both engineered for precision and intuitive use. The movement is governed by a column wheel and lateral clutch, yet its layout breaks convention. Built on an asymmetrical architecture, each component is positioned not just for efficiency, but for visual harmony. Viewed through the caseback, only the chronograph elements are revealed, bringing the mechanism to life while emphasising its functional purpose.
Measuring 38.8 mm in diameter, the RRCHF strikes a harmonious balance between presence and wearability. Despite its technical sophistication, it remains one of the slimmest chronographs to house a fully in-house movement.
Offered in both rose gold and platinum, the Rexhep Rexhepi Chronograph Flyback is priced at SGD 272,000 with tax. It is not merely a timepiece, but a statement of intent, where innovation is expressed through discipline, and complexity is refined into clarity.
