Sony has officially unveiled the next evolution of its flagship earbuds, the Sony WF-1000XM6, bringing meaningful upgrades across noise cancelling, sound quality, and everyday usability. Alongside the launch, Sony is also refreshing its over-ear lineup with a new Sand Pink colourway for the Sony WH-1000XM6, adding a fashionable twist to its premium headphones.

Building on the success of the previous generation, the WF-1000XM6 delivers Sony’s best noise cancelling yet, reducing noise by 25% compared to its predecessor. This is powered by the next-gen HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e, Integrated Processor V2, and an upgraded system featuring four microphones per earbud. The earbuds are especially effective at blocking mid-to-high frequency noise, like chatter in cafés or transport sounds, while the Adaptive Noise Cancelling Optimiser continuously adjusts based on your environment and fit. Paired with redesigned Noise Isolation Earbud Tips in four sizes, the result is a more immersive and consistent listening experience.

On the audio front, Sony is doubling down on premium sound. Dual processors handle everything from signal processing to output, with 32-bit processing support for richer, higher-resolution playback. A newly engineered driver unit combines a soft edge for deeper bass with a rigid dome for crisp highs, minimising distortion while delivering precise, detailed audio. Features like Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, 360 Reality Audio, and a customisable 10-band EQ ensure flexibility for every listener. Notably, the sound profile has been fine-tuned with input from world-renowned engineers who’ve worked with artists like Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga, aiming to reproduce music exactly as intended by its creators.

Call quality also sees a major boost. Each earbud integrates two microphones and a bone conduction sensor, enhanced by AI beamforming and noise reduction to isolate your voice even in noisy environments. Whether you’re taking calls on a busy street or in a crowded office, conversations remain clear and natural.

Comfort and usability have been refined as well. The earbuds are now around 11% slimmer, shaped to better match the natural contours of the ear for improved stability and long-wear comfort. A new ventilation design reduces internal noise from movements like walking or chewing, while the charging case is easier to open and handle with one hand.

Connectivity gets a notable upgrade too, with a larger antenna and improved algorithms delivering more stable Bluetooth performance. The WF-1000XM6 also supports LE Audio for ultra-low latency, ideal for gaming, and integrates seamlessly with Google Gemini for hands-free assistance. Just say “Hey Google” to access features like scheduling, messaging, or real-time queries without touching your phone.

Battery life remains solid, offering up to 8 hours on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the case, alongside Qi wireless charging support. On the sustainability front, Sony continues its eco-conscious push, using approximately 25% recycled plastic materials and fully plastic-free packaging.

Complementing the earbuds, the WH-1000XM6 headphones now come in a new Sand Pink finish, joining the existing Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue options. The new colour adds a soft, stylish touch for users who see headphones as both a tech essential and a fashion accessory.
In Singapore, the WF-1000XM6 is priced at S$479 and available from early March 2026. While trade-in deals offer up to S$120 off.
Meanwhile, the WH-1000XM6 in Sand Pink will retail at S$649 and launch alongside the earbuds.
