Sony has officially introduced its 2025 line-up of BRAVIA Theatre home audio products, designed to deliver immersive surround sound that replicates the cinematic experience in a home setting. Recognizing the difference between cinema and home viewing, Sony aims to recreate the rich, multi-speaker sound environment found in movie theatres.
The new range includes the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, as well as optional add-ons like the BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 speakers and BRAVIA Theatre Sub 7 subwoofer. These components can be paired with compatible soundbars like the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 to elevate the sound experience even further.
Sony’s deep involvement in professional film production gear, including digital cinema cameras and monitors, gives it unique insight into filmmakers’ intentions. The BRAVIA Theatre system, in combination with new BRAVIA TVs, aims to bridge the gap between creators and viewers for a true at-home cinema experience.
BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6: Cinematic Sound with Clarity and Bass
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 is a 3.1.2 channel soundbar that delivers cinematic surround sound with crisp dialogue and room-filling bass, thanks to a wireless subwoofer. With support for Dolby Atmos® and DTS: X®, plus Sony’s proprietary Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround, users can enjoy three-dimensional sound even from regular stereo content.

A dedicated centre speaker ensures voices are always clear while pairing with a BRAVIA TV activates Sony’s AI-powered Voice Zoom 3™, which intelligently adjusts dialogue volume based on the scene.
BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 & Sub 7: Expand Your Soundscape
The BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 and Sub 7 are optional wireless speakers designed to take your audio setup to the next level. Rear 8 speakers bring enhanced surround realism using Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, which customizes audio output for your specific room layout.

The Sub 7 provides deeper bass for action-packed scenes, housed in a slim design that supports flexible placement options. Both components match modern interiors with a sleek, high-quality aesthetic.
Seamless Integration with BRAVIA TVs
Sony has ensured that the BRAVIA Theatre audio system works hand-in-hand with BRAVIA TVs for a unified entertainment experience. With the BRAVIA Connect app, users can control both audio and video settings from their smartphone without needing the TV remote. Soundbar settings also appear within the BRAVIA TV’s Quick Settings menu, providing easy access to key adjustments like sound field modes and volume control.
Sustainability Meets Sound: Eco-Conscious Design
In line with Sony’s “Road to Zero” environmental initiative, the BRAVIA Theatre home audio range uses less virgin plastic and features fabric made from recycled PET bottles. The materials were carefully chosen to maintain top-tier sound quality while minimizing environmental impact.
Accessibility Features for All Users
Sony has incorporated accessibility into the BRAVIA Theatre line-up. Tactile markings on the soundbar and packaging help visually impaired users navigate the setup. A raised square frame on the box highlights a QR code leading to the BRAVIA Connect app, which supports screen readers for easier installation.
