AXS has launched the AXS Drive app, designed to simplify parking at malls, offices, and other commercial spaces by automatically deducting parking fees through users’ credit cards linked to their car details. This new app aims to prevent common issues such as insufficient stored-value card balance, card or IU errors, and delays caused by scanning complimentary parking tickets.
Launch Details and Future Plans
Initially available at 12 locations including Downtown East, Far East Plaza, The Heeren, and Wisma Atria, AXS plans to extend the service to 100 car parks by the end of 2024, aiming to capture about 12% of the commercial car park market.
Benefits for Drivers
AXS Drive links drivers’ credit cards to their license plates and IU numbers, enabling automatic payment deductions upon exit. Utilizing License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology, the app records entry and exit times, processing payments seamlessly. This integration with existing Electronic Parking Systems (EPS) eliminates the need for additional hardware, ensuring a smooth transition for car park operators.
Group CEO of AXS, Mr. Jeffery Goh, highlights that AXS Drive is the company’s first venture into cardless payments, addressing a strong market need for innovative parking solutions. The app aims to minimize frustrations and prevent drivers from getting stuck at exit gantries by reducing IU reading errors and cash card issues.

Car park operators also stand to gain from AXS Drive. The app reduces congestion at exit points by accurately recording vehicle details and deducting fees at the backend. This minimizes debit errors and enhances revenue by preventing drivers from tailgating to avoid payments. Additionally, AXS Drive supports digitalized tickets and coupons, streamlining processes and reducing administrative burdens and paper waste.
Operators can also use value-added features like real-time advertising of available parking spaces to boost occupancy rates and revenue.
Easy Setup and Use
The AXS Drive app is free and user-friendly, available on both Android and iOS. Users download the app, input their car plate and IU number, and link a credit or debit card for payments. Multiple vehicles can be linked to one credit card, simplifying payments for families or offices. The app also allows users to renew season parking in-app.
For the first year, AXS Drive will partner exclusively with Mastercard, providing a secure payment experience supported by Mastercard Gateway. Other payment networks will be included later.
Additional Features
AXS Drive offers several features to enhance the driving experience. Users can check parking space availability and receive real-time traffic updates through integrated cameras.
The app also facilitates payments for road tax renewals and fines, maintaining a detailed log of transactions for easy expense tracking and reimbursement claims.
Future Expansion
AXS plans to expand the app’s coverage to more car parks and explore partnerships with malls to enhance shopping and parking experiences.
Users may earn and redeem reward points directly through the app, promoting an environmentally friendly, paperless system.
Launch Campaign
At launch, AXS will run a referral campaign where users earn a $1 voucher for each successful referral who makes a parking payment through the app.
These vouchers are tracked under the Parking Privileges section and automatically applied to future parking charges, with any remaining balance deducted from linked Mastercard cards.
