FUJIFILM has announced the upcoming release of the FUJIFILM X-T50 mirrorless digital camera. The latest addition to the renowned X series, the X-T50 offers exceptional image quality and unique colour reproduction technology in a compact, lightweight design. The X-T50 will be available in mid-June 2024.
Introducing the FUJIFILM X-T50
The X-T50 boasts a compact and lightweight body, weighing approximately 438g (including battery and memory card), and is equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to deliver superior performance and mobility.
Key features include the 40.2 megapixel back-illuminated “X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR” sensor and the high-speed “X-Processor 5” image processing engine, providing high image quality and performance.
High Image Quality and Performance
The X-T50 features the fifth-generation back-illuminated 40.2-megapixel X-TransTM CMOS 5 HR sensor, ensuring high resolution while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. The improved pixel structure captures more light efficiently, with ISO 125 adopted as the normal sensitivity.
The electronic shutter can reach a speed of 1/180000 sec., enabling precise control of exposure time and allowing shooting with a large aperture lens in a variety of scenes.
AI-based subject detection AF, developed with deep learning technology, can now detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aeroplanes, trains, insects, and drones. An advanced AF prediction algorithm facilitates the comfortable shooting of fast-moving subjects. With 20 “Film Simulation” modes, including “REALA ACE” for faithful colour reproduction and crisp tonal gradations, photographers can enjoy a wide range of colour expressions.
Enhanced Functionality for Diverse Shooting Situations
The X-T50 features a 5-axis in-body image stabilization function with a maximum of 7.0 stops, ensuring stable hand-held shooting even in dark environments. It supports 6.2K/30P video recording, with tracking AF functionality available during video recording for high-quality results.
The camera’s AUTO mode automatically detects scenes and selects optimal settings, making it easier to capture high-quality still images and videos.
Sophisticated Product Design
The X-T50’s new round-shaped design offers a comfortable grip while maintaining a compact size, enhancing hold performance. The top plate includes a new “Film Simulation dial,” allowing users to switch between Film Simulation modes intuitively and enjoy different colour tones in both still and moving images.
A pop-up flash integrated with the viewfinder automatically adjusts light levels, enhancing performance in dark scenes and backlit portraits. The camera features a 1.84 million-dot tiltable rear LCD monitor, with an improved grip shape and button layout for more comfortable shooting experiences.
