Adventures Unfolding in Hong Kong With The HONOR Magic V2

In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, the HONOR Magic V2 emerges as a beacon of innovation, especially for foldable technology. I brought along the phone on my recent trip to Hong Kong, to stay productive during my travels.

It’s astonishingly slim with a folded thickness of just 9.9mm and an unfolded sleekness of 4.7mm. Weighing in at a mere 231g, it marries the portability of a bar phone with the expansive screen real estate of a foldable. The Super-light Titanium Hinge is a marvel of design and durability. The gearless mechanism allowed for smooth transitions between folded and unfolded states, with the screen laying flat and seamless at every angle. The Magic V2 was a delight to carry and use, seamlessly transitioning from a compact device to a large-screen experience.

On my flight to Hong Kong, the HONOR Magic V2 transformed into a portable workstation, proving invaluable for staying productive thousands of feet in the air. The flip function of the device was convenient, allowing me to use the bottom half of the screen as a virtual keyboard while the top half served as the display. This setup made typing out emails and editing documents surprisingly comfortable and efficient, reminiscent of a mini laptop experience. The device’s slim profile and lightweight design meant it fit easily on the small aeroplane tray table.

Battery anxiety was a non-issue, thanks to the 5000mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon Dual Batteries. Even with heavy usage that included navigation, photography, and social media, the device easily lasted the entire day.

While waiting for my hotel room to be ready, the lobby transformed into an impromptu office thanks to the HONOR Magic V2. Its large, unfolded screen made writing articles a breeze, offering a tablet-like experience that was both expansive and sharp. The phone was able to stand on its own at various angles, which was perfect for hands-free work. This adaptability, combined with the phone’s sophisticated design, made working in the public space both a practical and a stylish affair.

Whether I’m using the 7.92-inch inner screen for browsing and media consumption or the 6.43-inch external screen for quick interactions, the visual quality is stunning. The LTPO display, boasting 1.07 billion colours and a 120Hz refresh rate, made every image and video vivid and fluid. The 3840Hz PWM Dimming technology ensured comfortable viewing at all times, significantly reducing eye strain during long periods of use.

During my adventures in Hong Kong, the HONOR Magic V2 revealed itself to be an exceptional gaming companion, adeptly handling titles like Mobile Legends and Asphalt 9 with ease.

The expansive 7.92-inch inner display provided an immersive and lag-free experience, courtesy of the 120Hz refresh rate, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and HONOR’s cooling system ensured smooth and consistent performance even in graphically intensive scenarios.
