Reviving the Classic Studio JTM with Marshall

Marshall has introduced the brand-new Studio JTM, a revival of the amp that initiated it all but now in a more compact, lightweight format. In celebration of what would have been Jim Marshall’s 100th birthday and in tribute to the inaugural Marshall amp, the Studio series has unveiled its latest addition. Inspired by the 1962 JTM, the new Studio JTM offers contemporary players the same legendary warm, smooth tone that has inspired generations of musicians to unleash their musical visions upon the world.

The new Studio JTM range comprises four distinct yet equally distinguished products: a 20W head, a 20W combo amp, a 1 × 12” cabinet, and a 2 × 12” cabinet, all adorned with period-correct aesthetics such as the iconic red enamel “coffin” logo and luxurious fawn fret.

The original JTM45 earned high praise from the likes of Gary Moore, Richie Blackmore, and Angus Young for delivering more tone, more gain, and more grit to their sound. Today, this same ethos drives the creation of the Studio JTM, meticulously recreating the JTM sound and being handcrafted in our world-class UK factory in Milton Keynes.

Terry Marshall, Jim Marshall’s son and the creator of the original JTM45, expressed, “When I was introduced to the Studio JTM and it took me back to my original JTM45, it was my sound… I feel like it’s going to be something special.”

Marshall introduces the new Studio JTM AP amp with an emphasis on convenience. It features a smaller footprint and is lighter than its historical counterpart without compromising on sound quality, making it a breeze to transport and suitable for various performance settings.
