As a gamer, I am always on the lookout for the latest gaming gear that will give me an edge over my competition. So when I got my hands on the Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset AW920H in Lunar Light, Alienware x14 laptop, and Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor – G3223Q, I was thrilled to put it to the test.
To me, they all work best as a set. Hence, I set up the Alienware x14 laptop and mirrored the laptop screen to the Dell monitor, and connected the Alienware Tri-mode wireless gaming headset.
First of all, we have to recognise that the Alienware x14 is the world’s thinnest 14″ gaming laptop, featuring the world’s highest WHR for a 14″ gaming PC and exclusive Alienware Cryo-tech cooling technologies.
It has 12th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics featuring NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, Ray Tracing, and NVIDIA Max-Q technologies. While playing Valorant, I experienced high performance. I was given a breathtaking visual experience, the x14 offers NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus. The latter technology works closely with your GPU to enable a longer battery life, while NVIDIA G-SYNC helps ensure tear-free, high-speed action scenes. In addition, this FHD (1920×1080) laptop also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics.
Even after gaming for almost 3 hours with no break, I was surprised the laptop did not heat up as much, given how thin it was. The x14’s advanced cooling solutions are what really sets it apart from the rest. The exclusive Alienware Cryo-tech cooling technology maintains intensive performances and reduces internal temperatures via independently controlled fans and a unique CPU vapour chamber, which uses liquid phase changes to quickly dissipate heat.
The Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor gave me a smooth 144Hz refresh rate even for a demanding Valorant game. Its VESA DisplayHDR 600 and a wide colour coverage of DCI-P3 95% gave me very life-like graphics. No matter how graphically demanding my game is, I can play for much longer thanks to the monitor’s temperature management and bold venting, which give it a premium look and feel.
Of course, how immersive a game also depends strongly on its sound quality. The Alienware AW920H delivers an unprecedented level of immersion with its new Dolby Atmos Virtual Surround Sound. The three-dimensional precision of the audio allows me to react faster and more accurately to off-screen targets, even on the most chaotic of battlefields. The 40-mm Hi-Res Certified Drivers also help detect the slightest of in-game sounds, making it easier to hear every step and detail that could give me an edge over my opponents.
I tested out the headset with 2 of my favourite games that I play with my friends – Mobile Legends and PUBG. When I am out playing mobile games, it sometimes gets really noisy due to all the construction noises. Hence, one feature that really stood out to me is the Active Noise Cancelling. With four integrated microphones, the AW920H can drown out external noise and help me focus on the game. The AI Noise-Cancelling Microphone also clears out ambient noise, improving communication between me and my squad.
The battery life of the AW920H is also noteworthy. With up to 55 hours of play on a full charge or up to 6 hours of use after a quick 15-minute USB-C fast charge, I never worried about running out of battery mid-game. I especially loved the leatherette memory foam earpads, intuitive volume control, integrated microphones, detachable boom mic, and slim, form-fitting headband that provide a comfortable and secure listening experience, perfect for gaming or listening to music on the go. And the Lunar Light colour option and Alienware Legend 2.0 design make it look stylish and modern.
Overall, the Alienware x14 Gaming Laptop is a true marvel of technology, combining power, portability, and stunning design. With advanced cooling solutions, high-performance features, and immersive visuals and sound, it’s the ultimate gaming laptop for those who demand the best. The Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset is an excellent gaming headset that delivers unparalleled sound quality, versatile connectivity, long battery life, and comfortable design. And lastly, the Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor elevated my whole gaming experience with its amazing graphics and screen size.
The Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset AW920H in Lunar Light retails at S$299, the Alienware x14 laptop at S$3,599, and Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor – G3223Q at S$899.
