Leica Camera AG has announced the launch of its latest camera, the Leica M11 Monochrom, which is the fourth generation of cameras with a dedicated black-and-white sensor. The new camera, which is based on the experience of almost 70 years of Leica rangefinder cameras, is designed to focus on the basic practice of composing pictures through light and shadow.
It comes with a monochrome multi-resolution full-format sensor, providing extraordinary black-and-white images, and it offers an ISO range of 125 to 200,000. As a result, you get images with an unprecedented rendition of even the finest details, an exceptionally natural-looking definition even in difficult light conditions and an extremely low noise even in the high ISO range.
The camera is equipped with 256 GB of internal memory and connectivity to the Leica FOTOS app, which allows for quick and easy transfer of photos. In addition, the camera can be directly controlled with the app and photos can be immediately assessed on the smartphone or tablet thanks to tethered preview.
The Leica M11 Monochrom has an all-metal body with a top plate made of high-quality aluminium, a sapphire glass display, a solid leather covering, and a black, scratch-resistant paint finish. It also features a deliberate omission of the Leica logo and dark chrome-plated coating of the optical viewfinder, which underlines the reduced, iconic design of the camera.
The Leica M11 Monochrom is now available for purchase at S$13,470 at official Leica Singapore Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers.
