Local TV brand PRISM+ has unleashed three highly affordable 4K Android smart TVs, and expects to expand into regional markets.
The COVID-19 Pandemic hasn’t really bought many benefits to people (unless you own a PPE or ventilator manufacturing facility), but Circuit Breaker did cause a massive surge in Singaporeans buying tech products to help while away their time at home, and this lead to local TV brand PRISM+ selling out their very affordable 4K flat-panel TVs.
The unintentional benefit of this was that PRISM+ sold so many smart TVs that they were able to qualify for the Google Android Smart TV program, making PRISM+ the only local TV brand able to run the official Android TV operating system, and less than a year since the brand’s debut in Singapore.
Prism+ have now launched its first series of affordable 4K Android TVs – the PRISM+ Q Series – and consumers can now get their hands on a 55-inch Android TV at just $699, which is almost half the current market price against TVs within the same range. The PRISM+ Q Series Android TVs will also include a 65-inch version for $999 and a 75-inch version for $1,599.
The Q Series Android TVs, which operate on the official Android TV 9.0 Operating System, comes with a readily available Google Play Store which gives consumers access to more than 5,000 compatible apps. There is also a built-in Chromecast which lets consumers cast high-quality content from smartphones and laptops onto the TV with ease, and built-in Google Assistant.
Jon Ng, Director of PRISM+ said, “With more time being spent at home, many consumers are looking to level up their on-screen entertainment but are not willing to splurge on Android TVs. As the availability of Android TVs have increased significantly, we can now offer industry-standard Android TVs at a lower price point to cater to such consumers.”
The PRISM+ Q Series Android TVs is exclusively available at www.prismplus.sg/tvs from 23 October 2020, and will be available in other markets around the region in upcoming months.
