Amazon to deliver 10,000 food packages to The Food Bank Singapore amidst COVID-19 with Community Flex Program

Amazon is collaborating with The Food Bank Singapore to provide meals and grocery staples to homebound Singaporeans in need, donating its delivery services as part of community service during COVID-19.

The Right Kind of Flex

The new delivery donation program, Community Flex, sees Amazon Flex delivery partners collect the food packages prepared by The Food Bank Singapore to make contactless deliveries directly to the doorsteps of recipients. Together, the organizations expect to deliver 10,000 packages by end-June.

Running since 2012, The Food Bank aims to ensure Singapore’s vulnerable communities have access to food staples. As most volunteers are required to stay at home due to COVID-19, volunteerism rates have dropped approximately 80% locally.

With Amazon’s robust Flex delivery network, The Food Bank Singapore can now offer reliable and friction-free delivery of groceries and emergency rations. The non-profit organization is able to complete more than 500 deliveries on some days, compared to 5-10 packages earlier, and is on track to deliver 5,000 packages in May alone.
