Say Hello To The NOMOS Petit Four And More With The NOMOS Glashutte Basel 2018 Novelties

NOMOS hand crafted tools

Founded relatively recently and located within the heritage-rich town of Glashütte, NOMOS Glashütte is a watchmaking company to keep your eye on. The company’s design principles are based on the idea of timeless design combined with outstanding craftsmanship. And this is more than evidenced by the NOMOS Glashutte Basel 2018 Novelties collection, presented at Baselworld 2018.

Welcome Spring With The Delightful Tetra Petit Four Collection

NOMOS Tetra Petit Four Collection

Despite their delightful pastel appearance and the name they share with the classic French pastry, these watches are not edible. They do make a rather delicious impression though! These new editions of the NOMOS Tetra watches come in four delightfully spring-like shades, to match every spring emotion.

Ticking within these new watches is the NOMOS caliber Alpha, renowned for its reliability and accuracy. And, given that this is a NOMOS watch, you can be sure that each caliber has been traditionally crafted by hand in Glashütte. Every individual movement is adjusted in six positions, and features Glashütte ribbing, tempered blue screws, and NOMOS perlage.

In the Tetra Pearl and Tetra Grenadine, you can get a glimpse of the hand-wound calibre at work through the sapphire crystal glass back of the watch. The two others, Tetra Matcha and Tetra Azure, offer space for a personalized engraving on their stainless steel backs. A love note, perhaps, if this is a gift. Or perhaps the address of your favourite French bakery, to match the watch’s name.

The square shape of the case and its clear lines make a striking contrast to the gentle subtleties of the quartet’s colours. Grenadine red, pink, azure blue, or matcha green. No matter the colour, it’s set off to perfection by the shape of the dial. With the contrasting shades of their typography and the fine accents of silver and gold of their hands, these watches are not just extraordinary mechanical timepieces, but pieces of jewelry as well.

Everything About The Autobahn Expresses Movement

NOMOS Autobahn in sports gray

NOMOS Glashütte is partnering with Werner Aisslinger, the world-renowned product designed, to create the Autobahn: a new sporty automatic watch. Equipped with the new, innovative NOMOS neomatik date caliber, this self-assured timepiece is decisively sporty.

Speed and movement is the name of the game for the Autobahn. Every facet of this timepiece is dynamic and sporty, from the dial to the date window. The dial, for instance, transitions from curve to curve, once around the edge, and again on the sub-seconds dial. The elongated date window at 6 o’clock displays three days at once: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Past, present, future, this watch moves you from one to another.

The 41mm case is an elegant setting for the dashing dial within. It also makes reference to the mechanism beneath: the second neomatik caliber from NOMOS Glashütte. With impervious sapphire crystal glass on both sides of the case and water resistance to 100m, Autobahn makes for a particularly sporty timepiece.

The timepiece is available in three versions. The first, with a white silver-plated dial, lies closest to the more classic end of the NOMOS design spectrum. Next, the racing version comes in a new shade of sports gray. And last but not least, the third model comes in deep midnight blue.
