A Lifelike Companion
Just the appearance of aibo makes you want to reach out and pet him with his cute and round appearance. And when he moves, you’re gonna fall in love with him immediately. Sony has really broken the bank using ultracompact 1- and 2-axis actuators to give aibo’s body the freedom to move along 22 axes and make smooth, natural movements. Furthermore, his eyes are two OLEDs that allow for diverse and nuanced expressions.
The best part? His little tail can wag in anticipation or joy!
aibo Forms Bonds with You!
Yes you heard us right. aibo isn’t just a Furby ripoff that sits around and makes strange noises. aibo is an emotional creature and he will grow to love you (and you, him).
Not content with merely waiting around to be called, curious little aibo will actively seek you out. What’s more, he can detect words of praise, smiles, head and back scratches, petting, and more, allowing him to learn and remember what actions make you happy.
This adaptable behavior is made possible through Sony’s well-cultivated deep learning technology, in the form of inbuilt sensors that can detect and analyze sounds and images. aibo also comes with fish-eye cameras that utilize simultaneous location and mapping (SLAM) technology, allowing him to lead his life in close conjunction with yours.

As if responding to you and learning your ways isn’t enough, cute little aibo can change and mature. As he interacts with people over time, his behavior slowly changes and adapts in response to the environment. He will eventually be able to respond to your affection in kind.
