Apple debuts iPhone 17 with Centre Stage front camera, brighter ProMotion display, and A19 chip

Apple unveiled the iPhone 17, introducing its most advanced features yet for photography, performance, and durability.

With a brand-new Centre Stage front camera, a 48MP Dual Fusion rear camera system, a bigger and brighter 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, and the A19 chip, iPhone 17 marks a significant leap forward in the iPhone lineup.

A front camera built for selfies, video calls, and more
For the first time, iPhone 17 introduces a Centre Stage front camera with a square sensor that offers a wider field of view and up to 18MP resolution.

The camera automatically adjusts for group selfies, keeps users centred during video calls, and allows ultra-stable 4K HDR video recording.

With Dual Capture, users can now film using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously — perfect for vlogs and social content.’

A 48MP Dual Fusion camera system
The rear cameras bring pro-level versatility to everyday photography:

● A 48MP Fusion Main camera with integrated 2x Telephoto.

● A 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera that captures expansive scenes and macro details at 4x the resolution of the previous generation.

Video recording hits new heights with 4K60 Dolby Vision, Spatial Audio capture, wind noise reduction, and even spatial video support for Apple Vision Pro.

Bigger, brighter, and tougher display
At 6.3 inches, the iPhone 17’s Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion delivers smoother scrolling, responsive gameplay, and power-efficient refresh rates down to 1Hz.

The screen now reaches 3000 nits peak brightness, making it Apple’s brightest ever for outdoor use, while Ceramic Shield 2 provides 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare.

Powered by the A19 chip
The A19 chip, built on 3-nanometer technology, brings a 1.5x faster CPU and a 2x faster GPU compared to the iPhone 13’s A15. With Neural Accelerators on each GPU core, iPhone 17 is ready for on-device AI and Apple Intelligence features.

Users can expect all-day battery life, up to 30 hours of video playback, and fast charging to 50% in 20 minutes with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.

Designed to last
Available in five colours — black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white — iPhone 17 features a contoured edge design and is made with 30% recycled content, including 100% recycled cobalt in its battery.

Packaging is 100% fibre-based, reflecting Apple’s 2030 carbon-neutral commitment.
