To promote the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in Singapore, Xiaomi partnered with Leica Photographer, Adele Chan, who utilized the smartphone’s camera capabilities to capture a series of photos showcasing the country’s landmarks, people, and culture. This collection, titled “A Shot Above,” highlights the smartphone’s imaging prowess. These photos can be viewed on Adele Chan’s Instagram and Xiaomi Singapore’s Facebook page.

The collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica has resulted in the enhancement of the Summicron lens for mobile imaging, further solidifying their position in the global imaging field. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s optical system inherits the compact size, large aperture, high imaging performance, reliability, and durability of Leica’s M series. The lens features an ultra-high-order polynomial design, delivering precision at the nanometer level. Additionally, the lens has a multi-layer coating that minimizes glare and ghosting while maintaining stable performance in extreme temperatures.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is equipped with a quad camera system featuring Leica optical lenses with various focal lengths, including ultra-wide-angle, wide-angle, telephoto, super-telephoto, and additional lengths through In-Sensor-Zoom. The smartphone’s cameras offer variable apertures, with three of them having an aperture wider than ƒ/2.0, enabling better low-light performance and the ability to capture moments quickly. The main camera, equipped with a large 1-inch IMX989 sensor and a physical two-stop aperture, allows content creators to customize exposures based on different scenarios. Moreover, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra introduces a Fast Shot mode inspired by the “hyperfocal distance” shooting method, enabling focus-free snapshots in just 0.8 seconds.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra prioritizes colour restoration throughout the entire imaging process. It optimizes the RAW workflow, leveraging algorithms in the RAW domain to enhance dynamic range, details, and texture, resulting in improved image quality. The main camera supports 50MP RAW and offers multi-frame 14-bit UltraRAW, providing higher resolution and better dynamic range. Adobe has also created camera profiles to facilitate post-production.

In terms of display, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a 6.73″ pro-grade WQHD+ display with exceptional colour accuracy and up to 2600 nits peak brightness. The display is calibrated according to the new CIE 2015 colourimetry, ensuring accurate and consistent colour presentation across different Xiaomi devices. It also supports Dolby Vision®, enabling vivid colours, impressive contrast and brightness, and rich details in dark and bright areas. Users can share their Dolby Vision content in user-generated content communities.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor using a 4nm process technology, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra provides superior performance and energy efficiency. It supports up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM.
