Luxury watchmaker OMEGA has once again pushed the boundaries of horological design with the launch of the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer in two striking new colourways. This launch marks the first time the Worldtimer style, previously celebrated in the Aqua Terra 150M line, is introduced into the adventurous Planet Ocean collection.
Crafted for the Global Explorer
The new Worldtimer models boast a bold 45.5 mm case made from brushed black ceramic (ZrO₂), taking design cues from OMEGA’s iconic Planet Ocean Deep Black series. Their black ceramic bezels feature a laser-ablated diving scale, polished in positive relief—a striking mix of function and finesse.
At the heart of the dial is a laser-ablated topographic map of the Earth, centred on the North Pole and crafted on a Grade 5 titanium surface. The result? A breathtaking visual that brings the planet to life with meticulous detail, encircled by a 24-hour ring distinguishing between day and night beneath hesalite glass.
Two Distinct Looks, One Global Mission
OMEGA offers two aesthetic variations to suit different style sensibilities:
● Turquoise Edition: A vibrant pop of turquoise varnish, white Super-LumiNova-filled hands and indexes, paired with a black structured rubber strap accented by turquoise stitching and a foldover clasp in ceramic and ceramic titanium.
● Grey Edition: A more understated take with grey varnish and OMEGA’s new grey Super-LumiNova, matched with a black rubber strap featuring a grey underside.
Designed for Depth, Powered by Precision
Beyond aesthetics, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer is built to perform. Each watch is powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8938, visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
Certified for water resistance up to 600 metres (60 bar / 2000 ft), these timepieces are ready to dive deep—both into oceans and across time zones.
A defining feature of the Worldtimer is its outer ring, adorned with names of major global cities, including OMEGA’s own home in Bienne, Switzerland (GMT+1). This allows wearers to keep track of multiple time zones at a glance—perfect for the modern jetsetter.
