Welcome to the January 2024 Edition of NXT – our 8th-anniversary issue at number 89 – before we reach the big milestone of 100 issues later this year. This issue’s main feature is all about the 2023 NXT Gadget Awards.
The progression of consumer technology has transitioned from enhancing the features and capabilities of individual gadgets to emphasising connectivity and the amalgamation of various devices.
This shift has given rise to innovations like the Internet of Things (IoT), enabling seamless communication and data sharing among devices. Consequently, a plethora of novel and enhanced products and services have emerged, reshaping our lifestyles and work environments.
The NXT Gadget Awards received a record-breaking number of votes, with 102,580 votes received.
Under the Gear section, we have featured the latest 2024 all-electric Cooper and Countryman, Samsung Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen monitor, Lenovo Thinkstation P8, Dell 7030 Rugged Extreme Tablet and more.
Our new NXT Angel Clarissa has tested out the iPhone 15 Pro Max in Bird Paradise and the new Pro Camera System on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is simply astounding.
Our NXT editor took the Lenovo Leigon GO and Leigon Glasses over this festive season to test out these latest gaming devices.
Over in Test, from page 78, we got to try the Apple iPhone 15, while not exactly a ‘Pro’, packs a solid camera for capturing memories.
We also got our hands on the HYUNDAI IONIQ 5, and ORA Good Cat an EV that feels like a living room on wheels.
Lastly, in NXT Big Thing, we look at how home robots will reshape our lives by 2028.
