Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic, designed to promote healthier habits throughout the day and night. The Galaxy Watch6 Series offers a blend of comprehensive health features and high-performance capabilities, all wrapped in a refined and sleek design. Notable improvements include a slimmer bezel, a larger and more vibrant display, and an enhanced user interface. Samsung is also introducing a wider range of watch faces and band options to empower users to tailor their smartwatches to their preferences and needs.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics, expressed the company’s commitment to making advanced health monitoring tools accessible right from users’ wrists. The Galaxy Watch6 Series focuses on three key elements of better sleep – understanding sleep patterns, building healthier habits, and creating a sleep-friendly environment. This is achieved through a comprehensive Sleep Score Factors analysis, including total sleep time, sleep cycle, awake time, and physical and mental recovery.
In collaboration with the National Sleep Foundation, Samsung offers personalized Sleep Messages, providing users with detailed feedback on their sleep health each morning. The enhanced Sleep Coaching feature offers tailored instructions and reminders to help users improve their sleep habits. The Galaxy Watch6 can even set the perfect sleep environment by automatically adjusting connected home electronics and activating Sleep Mode on the watch and phone to minimize disturbances during sleep.
Fitness features are also more personalized, offering insights into the user’s body composition, including skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, body water, and body fat percentage. These measurements help users set goals and track progress effectively. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch6 Series introduces the Personalized Heart Rate Zone, which analyzes individual physical capabilities to define optimal running intensity levels. With more than 100 workout trackers, Track Run for recording runs on a track, and Custom Workout for personalized routines, users have a wide array of fitness tools at their disposal. Fall Detection is also included, providing safety measures by automatically alerting emergency services or pre-selected contacts in case of a fall.
In terms of design, the Galaxy Watch6 Series offers a 20% larger display for improved reading and writing experiences. The vibrant, high-resolution display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and the Always On Display brightness adjustment feature ensures excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. Powered by an enhanced processor and memory, the Galaxy Watch6 delivers smoother and faster interactions. Both the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic feature slimmer bezels and rotating bezels for a sleek appearance. Users can personalize their watches further with new stylish and informative watch faces and easily interchangeable bands, providing over 400 unique combinations for a customized look.
Battery life is extended with a larger battery and reduced consumption, allowing users to charge their watches quickly for an additional eight hours of usage with just eight minutes of charging. The Galaxy Watch6 Series also enhances the user experience with Samsung Wallet, combining Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass for a more comprehensive wallet experience on the watch. Enhanced Gesture Control allows for touch-free interaction, and the inclusion of popular apps like WhatsApp, Google Calendar, Gmail, Peloton, MyFitnessPal, and Audible makes the watch even more versatile. The Galaxy Watch6 Series also seamlessly integrates with other Samsung devices, offering features like remote control of the Galaxy Z Flip5 camera, interaction with Samsung Smart TVs and Galaxy Tab S9, Auto Switch for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, and Find My Phone with map support24.
As always, Samsung prioritizes security with the Samsung Knox security platform, ensuring users’ personal data remains protected on their smartwatches.
Pricing and Availability
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and Galaxy Watch6 will start on 26th July 2023 at 7 pm. Pre-order options include Samsung Online Store, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Education Store, selected telecommunication operators (Singtel, StarHub), selected Consumer Electronics & IT Stores, Samsung Official Store in Lazada, Shopee, and KrisShop.
Customers who pre-order will receive a complimentary 10 Watch6 Fabric Band and Watch6 Hybrid Leather Band (total worth $146), and an additional overtrade value of $50 upon successful payment and collection or delivery of their pre-order.
Telecommunication operators (Singtel, StarHub) will offer pre-orders from their websites.
Pre-ordered devices can be collected from 4th August 2023. Customers can also pre-order from Samsung Online Store or Samsung Experience Stores and choose to collect their devices from 4th August 2023 or opt for delivery. Pre-orders are available online at Samsung’s Official Store in Lazada, Shopee, KrisShop, and at selected consumer electronics & IT stores.
The Galaxy Watch6 Classic and Galaxy Watch6 will be available in Singapore from 11th August 2023 at various locations, including local telecommunication operators, Samsung Online Stores, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Official Stores in Lazada and Shopee, and major consumer electronics & IT stores.
