Bang & Olufsen has announced the release of their latest portable speaker, the Beosound A5. Collaborating with the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi, the Beosound A5 beautifully blends Scandinavian and southern design cultures. It comes in two colourways, natural aluminium with a woven paper fibre front and a light oak handle, or black anthracite aluminium with a dark oak wood speaker cover and handle, both exuding the best of Scandinavian design.
This portable speaker is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, thanks to its IP65 water and dustproof rating, and solid oak handle. It offers over 12 hours of playtime and a wireless phone charger integrated into the top panel. The Beosound A5 is controlled by a user interface or the Bang & Olufsen app, making it incredibly user-friendly.
This speaker is also Bang & Olufsen’s most powerful portable speaker to date, featuring a four-way driver setup with four digital amplifiers providing 280 watts of power. The beamforming technology, first built into the Beolab series, has been brought to the Beosound A5 to control sound with high precision, providing a dynamic 360-degree sound that fills large rooms.
Not only does the Beosound A5 excel in design and sound, but it is also modularly designed for easy servicing and repair, extending its lifetime instead of being replaced by a new speaker. With its versatility going beyond design and into software, the Beosound A5 can be used as a standalone speaker or can connect seamlessly with another Beosound A5 or any other Mozart-enabled speaker in Bang & Olufsen’s portfolio, creating an immersive multiroom experience at the touch of a button.
Beosound A5 is compatible with Beolink Multiroom, Airplay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth 5.2 and more, proving that it’s more than just its physical design that is made to be taken anywhere. It retails at S$1,499, available for preorder online or in stores.
