Leica Smart Projection has unveiled the Leica Cine Compact 1, a sleek and versatile mini projector designed to deliver a premium cinematic experience in a compact form factor. Combining advanced laser projection technology with Leica’s renowned imaging expertise, the Cine Compact 1 offers effortless plug-and-play entertainment wherever you choose to use it. Whether set up in a living room, mounted on a ceiling, or brought outdoors for movie nights in the garden, the projector delivers bright, immersive visuals up to 220 inches with a 1,700-lumen brightness rating.

Drawing on nearly a century of optical innovation dating back to Leica’s first projector in 1926, the Cine Compact 1 packs an impressive imaging system into its compact chassis. At its core is a Leica Summicron zoom lens with aspherical elements, paired with a high-performance 0.47-inch DMD imaging chip and advanced Triple RGB laser technology. Together, they produce sharp 4K visuals with vibrant colours, excellent detail and impressive brightness. Leica’s proprietary Leica Image Optimisation (LIO™) technology further refines image quality, while Dolby Vision support enhances contrast and delivers more nuanced highlights and shadows.

One of the projector’s standout features is its flexibility. An integrated 360-degree rotating design allows users to project onto walls, ceilings or virtually any suitable surface without the need for a fixed screen. Automatic setup tools, including autofocus, keystone correction, intelligent screen alignment and zoom adjustment, simplify installation and ensure an optimised viewing experience with minimal effort. For even greater placement flexibility, Leica offers an optional stand, while a built-in tripod mount supports ceiling installations.

The Cine Compact 1 is equally capable in terms of connectivity and smart features. Powered by the VIDAA operating system, it provides direct access to popular streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, Apple HomeKit, HDMI and USB, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of entertainment setups. Its built-in speaker system delivers rich, room-filling audio, while support for Bluetooth 5.4 and HDMI audio output enables connection to external sound systems. Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Virtual:X technologies further enhance the immersive experience.

Designed with both aesthetics and durability in mind, the projector features a premium aluminium housing inspired by Bauhaus design principles, complemented by an elegant glass front panel. Beyond its sophisticated appearance, the construction helps maintain precise optical alignment and efficient thermal management for reliable long-term performance. The energy-efficient Triple RGB laser light source is also engineered to maintain consistent brightness for years of use.
Leica has also taken sustainability into account by including an eco-friendly carrying case made from fully recyclable EPP material. The protective case doubles as the projector’s transport packaging, reducing waste while offering convenient storage and portability.
The Leica Cine Compact 1 is available from 18 June 2026 at $2400 from official distributors or the Leica Store.
