FUJIFILM Corporation is launching its latest smartphone printer, the “instax mini Link 3”. The Link 3 is the newest addition to the highly popular instax mini Link™ series, designed for printing smartphone images onto card-sized instax™ film. This third-generation printer not only offers the convenience of instant photo printing but also introduces exciting new features to enhance the overall experience.
Key Features of the instax mini Link 3™
instax AiR Studio™
The Instax AiR Studio™ is a groundbreaking feature that allows users to add 3D AR (Augmented Reality) effects to their photos. By using a dedicated app, users can creatively decorate the space around their subjects with various AR effects.
The AR effects are categorized into three types:
1. Back: Creates a customized background for the subject.
2. Decor: Add decorations around the subject.
3. Effect: Introduces dynamic AR elements that enhance the photo-taking experience.
The app also features a “Remote Live View” function, enabling users to share their screen with others while shooting. By scanning a QR code, another smartphone can display a live video feed, allowing the person being photographed to view the AR effects in real time.
Click to Collage
The Click to Collage function enables users to create collage prints from a series of photos, similar to the experience of a photo booth. Using the dedicated app, users can take up to six images in succession, guided by a “3, 2, 1” countdown.
Once the collage images are captured, the app can print them as a single collage. Additionally, the “Instax Animation™” feature allows users to create a flipbook-style video by combining multiple images. The video can be shared by scanning a QR code printed on the instax™ print, making it easy to share with friends and family or on social media.
Sparkling New Film and Design
SPRINKLES Film
Coinciding with the launch of Link 3, Fujifilm is introducing a new mini-format film called “SPRINKLES.” This film features a colourful design inspired by sugar sprinkles, one of the AR effects available in the Instax AiR Studio™. The vibrant film enhances the fun and creativity of the photography experience.
Design and Colors
The Link 3 features a sleek new body design, with the iconic vertical lines of the “mini Link” series and the instax™ logo prominently displayed. When powered on, the device lights up with three LED colors under the logo, adding to the playful experience.
The printer is available in three fashionable colors: Clay White, Rose Pink, and Sage Green, catering to a variety of personal styles. Additionally, matching printer cases are available in Pink, White, and Navy Blue.
Expanded Compatibility and App Integration
As with previous models, the Link 3 connects to smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing users to print images stored on their devices with ease. The dedicated app offers intuitive editing tools, enabling users to scale, rotate, apply filters, and adjust brightness before printing.
Users can also import and edit videos from their smartphones, selecting the best frame to print as a still image.
instaxUP!™ App Update
Alongside the release of the Link 3, Fujifilm has updated the popular instaxUP!™ app. The new version, launched on August 13th, adds the “instax Days™” feature, which lets users create personalized calendars by adding event names to their instax™ prints.
The app allows users to organize scanned instax™ prints by date, providing a digital archive of memories that can be easily shared on social media.
