RØDE Launches RØDECaster Video Core and RØDECaster Sync to Streamline Creator Production

Audio technology company RØDE has unveiled the RØDECaster Video Core, a powerful new addition to its video production ecosystem, alongside RØDECaster Sync, an integration feature designed to unify audio and video workflows. The launch marks the latest expansion of the RØDECaster lineup, following the release of the RØDECaster Video S in November last year.

Built for video podcasters, live streamers and content creators, the RØDECaster Video Core combines advanced video switching, recording and streaming capabilities with a fully integrated professional audio mixer. The compact, desktop-friendly console offers a streamlined solution for creators who work in modular or software-driven environments, delivering the same high-performance processing power found in the flagship RØDECaster Video.

The new RØDECaster Sync feature further enhances this ecosystem by allowing the RØDECaster Video Core to connect seamlessly with the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo audio interfaces. Using a simple USB-C connection, creators can manage both audio and video production from a single unified system while expanding their available inputs and outputs.

Professional Video Production in a Compact Console
Designed to support modern production workflows, the RØDECaster Video Core is powered by a high-performance octa-core processor capable of handling both video and audio tasks simultaneously. The console allows users to switch between up to four video sources and manage five fully customisable scenes, enabling professional multi-camera productions without the complexity of traditional broadcast equipment.

The device includes three Full HD (1080p) HDMI inputs with automatic frame-rate conversion, along with a configurable HDMI output for monitoring programs, preview or multi-view displays. Two flexible USB-C ports allow users to connect compatible video and audio devices, while an external SSD can be attached for direct recording.

Creators can also stream directly to major platforms such as YouTube and Twitch via Ethernet, or record content locally to an external USB storage device. For greater editing flexibility, the system supports isolated (ISO) recording, capturing each audio and video source individually for post-production.

Studio-Grade Audio for Professional Content
True to RØDE’s reputation in audio technology, the RØDECaster Video Core delivers studio-quality sound with two Neutrik® combo inputs powered by ultra-low-noise Revolution Preamps™. These inputs allow creators to capture pristine audio from microphones, instruments or other sources.

The console also features nine stereo audio channels enhanced by powerful APHEX® audio processing, including EQ, compression, noise gating, de-essing and high-pass filtering. Legendary effects such as Aural Exciter™, Big Bottom™ and Compellor™ further enhance sound quality, ensuring productions sound as polished as they look.

Flexible Production for Any Creator
With support for HDMI cameras, USB devices and network cameras via NDI®, the RØDECaster Video Core adapts easily to a wide range of production setups. It can accept up to four NDI inputs and one output via Ethernet, providing additional flexibility for professional studio environments.

The console also integrates with the RØDECaster App, a free companion software that allows users to control switching, build custom multi-camera scenes, mix audio and manage graphics overlays remotely. Intelligent auto-switching enables hands-free transitions between video sources based on audio activity, making it particularly useful for podcasts and panel discussions.

For mobile production, the console pairs with the RØDE Capture app, enabling creators to transform an iPhone into a dual-camera streaming source for multi-angle recording.

New Firmware Updates Across the RØDECaster Range
Alongside the hardware launch, RØDE has introduced several firmware updates across the RØDECaster Series to enhance functionality and streamline production workflows.

Among the updates is EDL Timeline Export, which allows creators to export their production timeline directly into DaVinci Resolve. This feature automatically recreates the full sequence of switches, transitions and graphics in the editing software, significantly reducing post-production time.

Additional improvements include compressed UVC input and MJPEG support, enabling compatibility with a wider range of USB cameras, as well as flexible media import, allowing videos with non-standard aspect ratios—such as vertical or square formats—to be automatically scaled and integrated into productions.

The RØDECaster Duo audio interface has also been updated, expanding its capacity from seven to nine audio channels, bringing it in line with the RØDECaster Pro II. Wireless inputs can now operate alongside combo inputs simultaneously, providing greater flexibility for creators using multiple microphones or wireless systems.

Expanding the Creator Ecosystem
Designed and manufactured in RØDE’s advanced production facilities in Sydney, Australia, the RØDECaster Video Core represents the next evolution of the company’s creator-focused production ecosystem.

By combining professional-grade audio, powerful video switching and seamless integration with existing RØDECaster consoles, the new system offers creators an efficient way to scale their production setup while maintaining broadcast-quality output.

The RØDECaster Video Core will ship worldwide and is now available for pre-order at US$599, while the latest firmware updates for compatible RØDECaster consoles are available through the RØDECaster App.
