Hublot Unveils Square Bang Tourbillon 4-Day Power Reserve: A New Shape, A New Standard

In a world where tradition dictates that watches must be round, Hublot boldly challenges the norm once again. Introducing the Square Bang Tourbillon 4-Day Power Reserve — the latest evolution in the Big Bang family, and a daring new take on what Haute Horlogerie can be.

First launched in 2022, the Square Bang collection disrupted design codes with its perfectly squared 42 mm silhouette. Now, for the first time, the Square Bang goes Tourbillon, bringing with it a slew of technical and architectural firsts that push the boundaries of form and function.

First of Its Kind: Where Everything Is Right-Angled — Except the Tourbillon
At the heart of the Square Bang Tourbillon 4-Day Power Reserve is the MHUB6023 manual-winding movement, developed entirely in-house. Featuring 174 components, the movement is engineered with all-square and rectangular bridges — a radical departure from the typically round architecture found in most mechanical timepieces.

The entire skeletonised movement is suspended in a visually striking openwork display, where sharp lines and angles appear to float in space. The layout itself is symmetrical and balanced:
● Winding mechanism on the right
● Power reserve indicator on the left
● Barrel at the top
● Tourbillon at the bottom
Each element is arranged to reinforce the watch’s square geometry, creating a visual rhythm that is as logical as it is poetic.

Unapologetically Square, Inside and Out
To mark this groundbreaking release, Hublot has created a bespoke 3D carbon case measuring 42 mm.

Woven in both vertical and horizontal layers, the carbon composite case features a unique textured square motif — echoed again on the rubber strap, which is designed with square patterning for visual cohesion. The result is a piece that feels radically modern yet deeply considered.

Performance Meets Precision
As functional as it is artistic, the Square Bang Tourbillon boasts a generous four-day power reserve, shown via a countdown display at 9 o’clock. Its silicon escapement ensures reliable performance against the magnetic fields and temperature changes encountered in daily wear.

This is not just a watch. It is a sculpture for the wrist — a rare harmony between bold aesthetics and high watchmaking complexity.
