Synology has introduced two new additions to its DiskStation lineup: the DS1825+ and DS1525+, aimed at small-to-medium businesses and professionals who need powerful, scalable, and compact storage solutions. These NAS models are designed to tackle modern data management challenges with enhanced performance and reliability.
“These two models provide a solid foundation for data management and collaboration,” said Owen Liao, Product Manager at Synology. “With growing demands for business-grade performance, scalability, and reliability, the DS1825+ and DS1525+ are built to meet those needs head-on.”
Performance and Scalability that Grows With You
Both the DS1525+ and DS1825+ come equipped with dual 2.5GbE LAN ports for high-speed connectivity.
The DS1525+ supports optional 10GbE upgrades via the E10G22-T1-Mini module, while the DS1825+ includes a PCIe 3.0 slot that accommodates both 10GBASE-T and 10/25GbE network cards. Each model also features two M.2 NVMe slots, enabling users to create ultra-fast all-flash caches or high-performance storage pools.
In Synology’s internal testing, the DS1825+ reached up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write speeds, while the DS1525+ clocked in at 1,181 MB/s for both read and write. Both systems can be scaled significantly with up to two 5-bay DX525 expansion units, offering up to 300 TB of raw storage on the DS1525+ and 360 TB on the DS1825+, a future-ready solution for growing businesses.
To ensure consistent performance and reliability, Synology has implemented a stringent drive compatibility policy. Installation requires Synology-compatible hard drives that have undergone more than 7,000 hours of validation testing.

Running on DiskStation Manager (DSM), the new NAS models are ready for a wide range of business applications:
● Synology Drive turns the system into a private cloud with cross-platform file access and syncing between sites.
● Active Backup Suite offers all-in-one protection for physical devices, VMs, and cloud services, with options for off-site backups.
● Surveillance Station provides a scalable, intelligent video surveillance platform to protect physical infrastructure.
