My friends all know I love my games, and how important a good quality gaming monitor is to me. I was so excited to test out Alienware’s new 34” Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3423DWF), as I’ve heard that it delivers stunning picture quality and ultra-smooth frame rates that transform the entire gaming experience. Let me walk you through my experience with it!
Firstly, the set-up. I was initially hesitant that the size of the monitor would be too big, given that I used a 27” my whole life. I was pleasantly surprised that the monitor blended seamlessly into my setup. The monitor was also slim with a sleek and modern design. I loved how the white monitor matched my white PC casing. Cable management could also be neatly organised in the stand.
To test it out, I played the most popular game this week, Overwatch 2. It was recently released less than a week ago, and so many of my friends are playing it. With the game’s demanding graphics, the monitor delivered superior colour performance. It’s Quantum Dot Display Technology delivers higher peak luminance and greater colour gamut range vs WOLED (White OLED). The monitor has a broad viewing angle and 99.3% DCI-P3 cinema-grade colour coverage, and the colours are accurate and lifelike.
In the game Valorant too, it displays highly realistic pictures. It was an unforgettable immersive gaming experience when combined with 1000 nits peak brightness, infinite contrast ratio, and VESA Display HDR True Black 400 certification. My reaction speed was so quick given how big and clear the screen was, and my gameplay tremendously improved.
With the quickest GtG (Grey to Grey) response time in the industry (0.1 ms) and a native refresh rate of up to 175 Hz, I enjoyed smoother gameplay and saw fast-moving images with stunning clarity for quicker in-game reaction times.
Additionally, it is also great as a productivity monitor, as the screen was wide enough for me to multitask.
Working in marketing, being precise with colours is a day-to-day job for me. I need a monitor that is able to keep up with my work that is colour-critical. The monitor’s Creator Mode allows me to choose between the native (DCI-P3) and the sRGB colour space. The vibrant colours made work so much more enjoyable.
