Introducing the Dyson V8 Slim – Dyson’s Lightest Cord-free Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson has launched the Dyson V8 Slim cord-free vacuum cleaner – its lightest cord-free vacuum cleaner with no loss of performance.

The machine also has a new soft roller cleaner head, which is 40% smaller and lighter than its predecessor while retaining the same high performance.

Engineered for Asian homes, the new soft roller cleaner head allows users to get into tight spaces and capture fine dust that other lightweight vacuums leave behind. The wand is now 102mm and the machine weighs 2.15kg.

The Dyson V8 Slim cord-free vacuum features Dyson’s digital motor V8 technology for powerful suction, two Tier Radial cyclones and whole machine high efficiency filtration. It is available at www.dyson.com.sg.

New Soft Roller Cleaner Head

Dyson engineers successfully made the cleaner head smaller and lighter by 40%. The use of an aircraft-grade 6061 aluminium made it possible to cut the brush bar’s diameter by 29%, giving it thinner, yet stronger walls. Dyson engineers also stitched the carbon fibre filament and felt together, which made a significant loss in weight as opposed to the previous model using glue and some plastic parts to hold the fabrics together.

The airflow path through the cleaner head was re-engineered to create a more direct path for the airflow. Smoothing out sharp corners and creating a more direct and even route for the airflow from the floor into the neck of the cleaner head has resulted in better edge cleaning performance. Not leaving any dust behind even with just one pass.

Dyson engineers then paired the new soft roller cleaner head with the Dyson V8 main body for its weight, and its excellent performance in separation, filtration and power.

The Dyson V8 boasts the following benefits.

2 Tier Radial Cyclones

Dyson’s advanced cyclone technology separates dirt from the airflow, helping to avoid the drop off in performance that can be seen in other vacuums that rely solely on filters or have less efficient cyclone systems. Dyson invented the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner that used cyclones to separate the dirt from the airflow, and has been researching and developing in this area for more than 25 years. The cyclones in the Dyson V8 Slim vacuum generate centrifugal force to fling fine dust into the bin.

Whole-machine Filtration

Once the dust is separated from the airflow in the cyclones, it is deposited and captured in the clear bin. The bin has four rubber seals to ensure collected dust is retained. The smaller particle size dust then travels through the pre-motor filter. Finally, the post motor filter captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens, pollen and mould spores, making the exhaust air cleaner.

Dyson Digital Motor V8, the Power Source

The Dyson digital motor V8 spins at up to 107,000rpm, creating the power to pick up large debris and fine dust from the floor, and generate enough powerful airflow to go through cyclone and filters. Powered by fade-free lithium-ion batteries, the Dyson digital motor V8 delivers consistent high power.

Hygienic Dirt Ejector

When you pull the lever up, the cleaner bin lid opens, and a rubber collar slides down the shroud, scraping dirt off. This enables the user to hygienically drive out trapped dust and debris in a single action without having to touch the dirt.
