Spring is here and with that, high-end watch brand Sinn’s has unveiled not one, not two, but eight timepieces to celebrate this season. All watches in this range will cater to individual tastes, so which is yours?
Here are the eight timepieces in the Sinn’s Spring Novelties 2020 Collection:
U50, U50 S, U50 SDR
Visually, the diver’s watch is noticeable for the striking design of its matte-black dial and a display that concentrates on the essentials. The case and crown are thus made of high-strength seawater- resistant German Submarine Steel. This type of steel stands out not only for its extremely high strength and exceptional non-magnetic properties but also for its especially high resistance to seawater.
They have designed the rotating bezel so that it is captive in the case. As it may experience high levels of stress during use, they have also hardened the surface using TEGIMENT Technology, making it especially scratch-resistant.
These features make it clear that the U50 is perfectly suited to diving use – a fact that has been verified by the classification company DNV GL. DNV GL verifies and certifies pressure resistance to a diving depth of 500 metres (= 50 bar) and temperature resistance and functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards.
1739 St I S
Silver hands, appliqués, meticulously attached by hand and a black dial with sunburst decoration: it is this stylish arrangement featuring appealing design elements that turn an extraordinary watch into something exceptional. 1739 St I 4N
Often it’s details that turn an extraordinary watch into something exceptional. Details such as sophisticated technical features. Or appealing design elements, such as those just waiting to be discovered in the 1739 St I 4N. Namely, the stylishly arranged golden hands, the appliqués, meticulously attached by hand and the silver electroplated dial with sunburst decoration – an interplay that creates a highly exquisite and elegant feel.
This timelessly classic design, skilfully incorporating elements from previous styles and thus illustrating a sense of tradition, is reinforced by the slightly curved, high-quality sapphire crystal. 1739 Heimat
The 1739 Heimat pays homage to our home city, Frankfurt am Main. The extremely fine rhodium-coated relief dial is inspired by the traditional diamond pattern of Frankfurt’s popular cider glasses, also known as Gerippte. The three-dimensional diamond pattern creates an incredibly vibrant interplay of light and shade on the cider glasses.
A close look at the relief on the dial reveals that it is just as vibrant and three-dimensional, with a wide range of surface characteristics – from polished to matte silk. The effect is a result of the electroforming technique used in the production process. This method allows complex three- dimensional surface structures to be achieved with a high degree of precision. The relief dial is coated with rhodium, a precious metal similar to platinum, which gives the dial an exquisite silver-white shine.
The watch is 39 mm in diameter. It is pressure-resistant to 10 bar and resistant to low pressure, making it ideal for everyday use.
556 I RS, 556 A RS
Striking form, sparse dial design, superior readability – characteristic SINN features which highlight the similarities between the 556 series and our pilot and navigation cockpit clocks.
The accentuation of the hours, minutes, seconds and the date plus the satinized stainless steel case are what give the watches their sporty yet elegant appearance. The crystal of the 556 watches is made from sapphire crystal, as is the transparent back which provides an intriguing insight into the filigree mechanical movement inside.
The model 556 I RS has a special feature: The red second hand is in a harmonious contrast to the black of the dial and the white of the indices.
