OPPO Launches New Reno Series with First-ever Partnership Featuring Top Singapore Creators

OPPO launched the brand-new Reno series today in Singapore, together with its first-ever partnership with top Singapore creators.

The Reno series was first announced in Shanghai on 10 April and is the new series of OPPO. This launch coincides with the brand being crowned the fastest growing smartphone brand in the premium segment globally in 2018.

OPPO MAKERS Initiative Aims to Inspire a New Generation of Trendsetters

The new OPPO Reno phone is made for the innovative creator of today, all ready to capture the best moments of life. To provide a face and voice to this new generation of creators, OPPO has launched the OPPO Makers initiative.

The OPPO Makers initiative will see the group of curated local creators working with OPPO to build and cultivate a community of creators looking to find new ways to express themselves. It aims to inspire a new generation of creative trendsetters, as well as tastemakers with a passion for self-expression and imagining the unimaginable.

The OPPO Makers, made up of dance choreographer Gin Lam (@ginlam), e-sports player Nash Nizam (@RevoGamingNash) from Team Flash (@teamflashsea), visual artist Tiffany Lovage (@lovage), and photographer Jovin Yong (@jovinycl) will be creating a body of work with the Reno phones, as well as content that will be showcased across both their individual and OPPO’s social media channels.

They will also each be hosting a series of monthly workshops from May to August 2019 as part of the launch campaign. Gin will kickstart the monthly workshop with a dance video creation workshop, followed by an e-sports mobile gaming clinic in June with Nash from Team Flash, illustration workshop with Tiffany in July, and finally a night photography workshop with Jovin in August.

The Reno Standard and 10x Zoom Version

The new Reno series consists of the standard edition Reno and the Reno 10x Zoom, and features a full frontal panoramic front display – the Reno standard version boasts a 6.4-inch OLED display and the Reno 10x Zoom, a 6.6-inch OLED display. The series also sports an impressive screen ratio of up to 93.1% for even greater visual enjoyment.

For the Reno 10x Zoom, it boasts 10 times hybrid zoom technology. It does so through a combination of three different zoom lenses: The 48MP super definition main camera lens, 13MP telephoto camera lens and the 8MP 120°wide-angle camera lens. The Reno opens many possibilities when it comes to picture compositions by providing effective focal lengths that range from super wide-angle, telephoto lens to the commonly used 16mm – 160mm focal lengths. It is also fitted with Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensors as its hardware foundation for outstanding night scene photography with its all-new upgraded Ultra Night Mode 2.0.

The Reno 10x Zoom, is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with storage combination of 8GB internal memory with 256GB expandable memory storage combination, as well as a 3765mAh battery and VOOC 3.0. The Reno standard version incorporates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform with storage combination of 8GB internal memory with 265GB memory option, and a 4065mAh battery and VOOC 3.0.

The Reno standard version, in both Ocean Green and Jet Black colours, will be available in-stores and online on 27 April 2019 and will be retailing at$849 (incl. GST), and the Reno 10x Zoom, also in both Ocean Green and Jet Black , will be available in June 2019, and retailing at$1,199 (incl. GST). It will be available in all Singtel, M1, and Starhub store and official distributors across Singapore.
