Sony Announces the PlayStation Classic

Sony Interactive recently announced that it will release the PlayStation Classic, a miniature game console that mirrors the look of the original PlayStation and comes preloaded with 20 original games, in limited quantities. One for the Nostalgia

The original PlayStation console made its debut in Japan on December 3, 1994, with landmark innovations such as enabling real-time 3DCG rendering and adopting CD-ROMs. It had a huge impact on the games industry in the 1990s and beyond.

The PlayStation Classic held in a hand

The design of the PlayStation Classic resembles the PlayStation – including the button layout, as well as controllers and outer package – but in a miniature size. It is 45% smaller on the sides and 80% smaller in volume than the original console.

Ready to Play Out of the Box

The best thing is it comes pre-loaded with 20 PlayStation games. It features classic favorites such as Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash!, R4 Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms. The PlayStation Classic is perfect for current PS4 fans, nostalgic fans who enjoyed playing the original PlayStation, and gamers new to PlayStation who want to experience classic PlayStation games from the 1990s.

PlayStation's console, controllers and accessories

The PlayStation Classic includes a HDMI cable for connecting to external displays such as TV monitors, and a USB cable which needs to be connected to a commercially sold USB AC Adaptor for power supply from a plug. What about Co-op play? On selected supported titles, you can play with your friends, using the two Controllers included with the console.
