It’s time to rethink what your idea of wristwatches is. Circular cases are all very well, but sometimes you have to think outside the box (or should I say, circle?) a little. And that’s precisely what the Greubel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon does. On the Greubel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon’s asymmetric case, four tourbillons each independently contribute towards optimal timekeeping precision. The end result is eye-catching, contemporary, and above all, a paragon of timekeeping precision.
And just for Baselworld 2018, Greubel Forsey unveils the Quadruple Tourbillon in two new, limited editions: Black and Blue.
Four Tourbillons For Guaranteed Precision
Tourbillons are one of the most advanced functions of a timepiece. They essentially counter the effects of gravity by continuously rotating the entire balance wheel and escapement of the watch at a slow rate. With not one, not two, but four tourbillons on the Quadruple Tourbillon, you can be pretty sure that the watch is as accurate as is physically possible.
The luxurious excess of tourbillons also results in the watch’s distinctly non-circular dial. It is, after all, the watch’s key quality. To that end, the watch’s bridges are made of transparent sapphire. This material is chosen specifically because it allows unimpaired visual access to the perfectly choreographed aerial ballet of the four tourbillons.
Limited Edition Blues And Blacks
For Baselworld 2018, Greubel Forsey introduced two new limited editions of their iconic Quadruple Tourbillon.
First up, there is the Quadruple Tourbillon Blue. This timepiece is limited to 8 pieces each in either a platinum 950 or 18k 5N red gold case. The rich blue of the dial perfectly complements the dyed blue of the hand-sewn alligator leather watch strap. Elegant, classic, this is a watch for the sartorially bold.
On the other hand, the Quadruple Tourbillon Black is a more subtle masterpiece. The case is black ADLC titanium, with a striking, masculine cast to its sheen. Along with the black rubber strap, the overall effect is sporty, subtle, and distinctly masculine. The Quadruple Tourbillon Black is limited to 8 pieces in its edition, like its blue counterpart.
