POCO has launched the new POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro, expanding its F Series with a stronger focus on gaming performance, battery life, imaging and audio. The two devices are positioned as all-round flagships, with the F9 Ultra leading the range through Qualcomm\u2019s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while both models introduce a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset for visual processing and gaming enhancements.<\/p>\n

Gaming is one of the biggest highlights of the new series. Both phones support Smart frame rate at up to 185FPS, with more than 20 games able to run natively at that level and several additional titles supported through frame-rate enhancement. POCO says the higher frame rate can improve responsiveness in fast-paced games, while AI Super Resolution can work at the same time to improve image sharpness. The phones also include WildBoost Engine, high touch sampling rates, and a 200Hz gyro sampling rate to make taps, swipes and movement feel more immediate.<\/p>\n
To help maintain performance during longer sessions, POCO has equipped the F9 Series with its 3D IceLoop cooling system. This is designed to keep temperatures under control when the phones are handling demanding games and heavy multitasking.<\/p>\n

The display hardware is equally ambitious. The POCO F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch HyperRGB AMOLED display, while the F9 Pro uses a more compact 6.59-inch panel. Both offer a 185Hz refresh rate and use a full RGB subpixel structure that POCO says can deliver sharp visuals while using less power. The new M11 luminescent material also allows peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits in selected scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content.<\/p>\n
POCO has also expanded its partnership with Bose for the F9 Series. The F9 Ultra uses dual symmetrical stereo speakers together with a dedicated subwoofer to create a 2.1-channel audio setup, while the F9 Pro uses dual super-linear stereo speakers with a sealed cavity design. Both phones include Sound by Bose tuning, with Dynamic and Balanced profiles available depending on whether users prefer stronger bass or more neutral vocals.<\/p>\n

A new Game audio mode is also included. It is designed to make footsteps more noticeable while preserving other in-game sounds such as gunfire and voices, helping players identify directional cues more easily during competitive gaming.<\/p>\n

Battery capacity is another major upgrade. The POCO F9 Ultra features an 8,050mAh battery, the largest ever used in a POCO F Series device, while the F9 Pro carries a 6,330mAh battery. Both support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, together with reverse charging for powering accessories and other devices.<\/p>\n

The camera system also receives a significant upgrade, with both phones introducing POCO\u2019s first 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation.
