Gaggenau has introduced a new generation of luxury kitchen appliances in Singapore, marking its most significant cavity range launch in almost two decades. The new collection comprises the Gaggenau Expressive and Minimalistic oven series, alongside the Vario cooling Expressive series of refrigerators, freezers and wine climate cabinets.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the launch is a complete rethink of Gaggenau\u2019s oven design. The Expressive series follows what the company describes as a \u201ctwo frames, one circle\u201d concept, combining architectural lines with a prominent circular control element. The Minimalistic series shares much of the underlying engineering but pares back the visual treatment for a cleaner and more understated appearance.<\/p>\n

Both oven series combine digital technology with physical interaction through a floating stainless-steel control ring. Rather than moving entirely towards touchscreen controls, Gaggenau has retained the familiar action of turning a physical dial, integrating it into a digital interface. The display is proximity-activated, appearing as the user approaches, while automatic programmes are available to assist with different cooking methods.<\/p>\n
According to Gaggenau Head of Design Sven Baacke, the new generation represents the company’s first completely new cavity design in almost 20 years. The design team has refined details such as visible screws, joints and surfaces in an effort to make the appliances feel more like integrated architectural objects within the kitchen.<\/p>\n

The physical control ring is an important part of that approach. Gaggenau User Interaction and User Interface Designer S\u00f6ren Strayle describes it as a deliberately tactile element within an increasingly digital environment. Its circular form is intended to make operation immediately understandable, while its proportions draw on the golden ratio to create visual harmony.<\/p>\n
The engineering behind the ovens has also been upgraded. A new full-surface grill sits behind Gaggenau’s signature blue enamel interior, a configuration the company describes as an industry first.<\/p>\n

The ovens also incorporate a five-layer glass door engineered to withstand temperatures of up to 485\u00b0C, reflecting the brand’s focus on professional-grade cooking performance alongside the new design.<\/p>\n
The same design philosophy extends into refrigeration through the Vario cooling Expressive series. Handleless doors, flush surfaces and carefully structured interiors are intended to create continuity between cooking and cooling appliances, particularly in kitchens where multiple units are installed together.<\/p>\n

The range includes refrigerators, freezers, fridge-freezers and wine climate cabinets. Each can be installed individually or arranged side by side, giving designers and homeowners greater flexibility when planning larger integrated kitchens.<\/p>\n
One of the most distinctive additions is found in the Vario cooling Expressive wine climate cabinets, which introduce automatic tempering programmes designed to prepare wine for serving at the appropriate temperature.<\/p>\n

Infrared sensors located in the upper and middle compartments monitor the bottles, while the system adjusts its operation according to the type and quantity of wine being prepared. The cabinet provides an estimated completion time and alerts the user once the desired serving temperature has been reached, both through its internal lighting and the Gaggenau Home Connect app.<\/p>\n
The programmes accommodate red, white, ros\u00e9 and sparkling wines, reducing the need for users to manually calculate how long a bottle needs to warm or cool before serving.<\/p>\n
