Cycle & Carriage has officially launched the all-new GWM ORA 5 eSUV in Singapore, marking the arrival of the Chinese brand’s first fully electric SUV and its most versatile model yet. Positioned as a stylish, technology-driven urban electric vehicle, the ORA 5 aims to stand out in an increasingly crowded EV market with a distinctive design language, intelligent features and a practical driving range tailored for everyday use.<\/p>\n
Following the success of the ORA Good Cat and ORA 07, the ORA 5 represents the next step in the brand’s local expansion. Unlike many electric SUVs that lean heavily into futuristic or aggressive styling, the ORA 5 adopts a softer, more approachable aesthetic inspired by nature.<\/p>\n

The vehicle made headlines even before arriving in Singapore, becoming the first production vehicle to win the Automotive Product Design category at the London Design Awards in 2025. Guided by the design philosophy “Born from Nature, Made for the City”, the ORA 5 features flowing body lines, rounded contours and distinctive droplet-shaped LED headlamps inspired by water droplets resting on leaves.<\/p>\n

The rear lighting design draws inspiration from a sunrise and maintains visual links to the popular ORA Good Cat.<\/p>\n
Sized for urban living, the ORA 5 measures 4,471mm in length and rides on a 2,720mm wheelbase, offering a balance between manoeuvrability and interior spaciousness. Buyers can choose from seven exterior colours, including Forest Green, So Blue and Phantom Grey, as well as three interior colour combinations.<\/p>\n

Inside, the cabin embraces a minimalist approach, with uncluttered surfaces and premium materials creating a welcoming environment. A 14.6-inch floating touchscreen sits alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, while signature toggle switches add a tactile element rarely seen in modern EVs.<\/p>\n
The ORA 5 also introduces thoughtful lifestyle-focused touches, including an illuminated vanity mirror, 64-colour ambient lighting and a large 1.65-square-metre panoramic moonroof.<\/p>\n

Comfort has been given equal priority. The driver’s seat offers six-way power adjustment with memory settings and an easy-entry function, while both front occupants benefit from ventilated seats \u2014 a feature particularly welcome in Singapore’s tropical climate.<\/p>\n

Practicality is further enhanced by 362 litres of luggage capacity, expandable to 1,120 litres with the rear seats folded, alongside 33 storage compartments, a built-in cooling box, wireless charging and Vehicle-to-Load capability for powering external devices.<\/p>\n
Technology is a major focus for the ORA 5. Running on GWM’s latest Coffee OS 3.0 platform powered by a Snapdragon AI processor, the system offers a smartphone-like interface with customisable layouts, voice control and connected vehicle functions accessible via a mobile app.<\/p>\n

Drivers can also choose from four dedicated “Coffee Space” cabin modes \u2014 Immersive, Nap, Camping and Temporary Leave \u2014 designed to adapt the vehicle’s environment to different lifestyles and situations.<\/p>\n
Under the skin, the ORA 5 is powered by a 58.3kWh SVOLT lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 435km and an impressive 602km in city driving conditions. DC fast charging supports charging from 20 to 80 per cent in approximately 25 minutes, while an 11kW AC charger can complete the same charge window in under three and a half hours. The electric motor produces 134bhp and 260Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 170km\/h.<\/p>\n
Safety remains a key pillar of the package. The ORA 5 carries a five-star Euro NCAP rating and comes equipped with seven airbags alongside more than 20 advanced driver assistance systems. Features include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane centring assistance, a 360-degree camera system and occupant monitoring technology.<\/p>\n

Cycle & Carriage is also backing the ORA 5 with a comprehensive ownership programme that includes 10 years of free servicing, a 10-year battery warranty and a six-year vehicle warranty, adding further peace of mind for first-time EV buyers.<\/p>\n
