The Belly Tank Racer and The Gekko each reflect the Manufacture\u2019s philosophy of transforming clocks into kinetic objects that engage both mechanically and visually.<\/p>\n

Leading the lineup is the Belly Tank Racer, a creation inspired by the ingenuity of post-war 1940s land-speed machines. Drawing from the streamlined forms of aircraft fuel tanks repurposed for racing, the piece features an elongated teardrop silhouette shaped by aerodynamic function. Crafted from lightweight aluminium with a polished finish, it houses a fully in-house movement offering an eight-day power reserve.<\/p>\n

Time is displayed through two transparent discs, preserving a clean and contemporary aesthetic. Adding a playful mechanical touch, the clock is wound by turning its rear wheels, echoing the mechanics of a pullback car. Vintage-inspired wheels further reinforce its automotive character. Limited to 99 pieces, the Belly Tank Racer is available in multiple colourways, each offering a distinct interpretation of its sleek form.<\/p>\n

In contrast, the Gekko draws inspiration from nature, reimagining the lizard as both subject and mechanism. Symbolising adaptability and resilience, the piece integrates an openworked in-house movement seamlessly into its sculptural body. The escapement is positioned within the head, while the articulated tail functions as the winding mechanism, creating an interactive and tactile experience.<\/p>\n

Designed with versatility in mind, the Gekko can be displayed either as a wall-mounted piece or as a freestanding sculpture. Its rotating dial ensures readability from different orientations, balancing practicality with artistic expression. Like the Racer, it is limited to 99 pieces and offered in a variety of finishes that highlight its sculptural and mechanical qualities.<\/p>\n

Across both creations, L\u2019Ep\u00e9e 1839 continues to push the boundaries of contemporary clockmaking, presenting time not merely as a function, but as a performance. Whether inspired by the pursuit of speed or the elegance of nature, each piece delivers a unique fusion of engineering precision and imaginative design.<\/p>\n
