Zyxel Networks, a leader in secure and AI-powered cloud networking solutions, has announced that four of its WiFi 7 access points are now OpenWiFi-ready. The move enables Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to deploy open, interoperable, and highly customizable wireless networks, delivering enterprise-grade WiFi 7 performance to subscribers while reducing dependence on proprietary ecosystems.<\/p>\n

Open WiFi 7 performance without vendor lock-in<\/strong>
\nAs demand for faster and more reliable connectivity continues to surge, many ISPs face limitations from closed networking ecosystems that restrict flexibility, interoperability, and long-term scalability.<\/p>\n

Zyxel Networks\u2019 OpenWiFi-ready access points address these challenges by combining next-generation WiFi 7 capabilities with open networking principles. This approach enables ISPs to maintain full control of their service architecture while improving the overall subscriber experience.<\/p>\n

The new lineup includes indoor and outdoor deployment options, ranging from entry-level dual-radio BE5100 models to high-performance triple-radio BE12300 solutions. The portfolio features the Zyxel NWA50BE, NWA55BE, NWA130BE, and NWA210BE, enabling ISPs to support a wide range of environments, including shared living spaces, co-working hubs, offices, and hospitality venues.<\/p>\n

The access points also feature Zyxel\u2019s industry-first RF First design, engineered to minimise interference from adjacent channels and nearby 4G\/5G networks. The rectangular form factor used in the NWA210BE and NWA130BE provides additional internal space, improving antenna isolation and resulting in stronger signal-to-noise ratios and more stable wireless coverage.<\/p>\n

Helping ISPs stay competitive with open networks<\/strong>
\nBy adopting vendor-agnostic, open-source WiFi infrastructure, Zyxel Networks aims to help ISPs unlock greater operational flexibility and innovation.<\/p>\n

Standardised WiFi hardware allows providers to mix and match compatible hardware and software from multiple vendors, reducing capital expenditure for large deployments while simplifying future network expansion without costly system replacements. At the same time, open-source development enables deeper customisation, giving ISPs the ability to tailor services and differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive broadband market.<\/p>\n

Select models within Zyxel Networks\u2019 access point portfolio will also support OpenWrt, an open-source embedded operating system that expands customisation and integration possibilities for service providers.<\/p>\n
