Deadzone: Rogue has just received its biggest update yet. The free Apophis (Zone 4) Expansion is now live as of December 17, bringing a substantial wave of new content, systems, and performance upgrades to the base game, all at no additional cost.<\/p>\n

Apophis introduces a powerful new weapon forging system, allowing players to upgrade their gear at nanite forges found in safe rooms. Weapons can now receive Blessed Traits that grant unique run-specific effects while permanently increasing weapon power levels across all zones. Forged weapons can reach up to +3 power, raising the maximum weapon level to 13, with each level adding 10% extra damage. Forging requires tech and rare nanite vials earned through combat or rerolls, making progression both strategic and rewarding.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The expansion also delivers eight new missions, including three story missions that deepen the game\u2019s narrative, three speciality missions focused on tactical variety, and two high-difficulty challenge missions designed to push veteran players to their limits. Each mission expands the scale and intensity of Deadzone\u2019s combat sandbox.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A major highlight is the introduction of the Radiation element, which adds a new layer of build diversity. Players can pierce enemies with gamma-ray beams, irradiate foes to amplify weakpoint damage, or unleash devastating nuclear novas. These abilities are supported by a new Radiation perk tree, Weakpoint Slayer, and a new synergy, Mantle of Decay, built for area-of-effect destruction.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Apophis also brings new bosses and enemy types, ranging from possessed miners and cybernetic witches to hulking robots, cultists, drones, and sword-bearing elites. These threats inhabit a haunting asteroid base environment, filled with underground tunnels, massive caverns, and glowing crystalline minerals, as players uncover unsettling truths about their origins.<\/p>\n

Under the hood, the game has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.6, delivering performance optimisations and numerous bug fixes. Quality-of-life improvements include multiple save files, enhanced co-op stat tracking, loot and fabricator rerolls, new earnable weapon skins, improved co-op matchmaking, and Twitch drops featuring exclusive cosmetic skins.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the update, Deadzone: Rogue<\/a> is 30% off on Steam from December 18 to January 5 as part of the Winter Fest, covering the base game, Operative Pack, and Original Soundtrack. New players are encouraged to jump in during the sale.<\/p>\n

Finally, PC players can pick up the optional MARK II Pack DLC<\/a>, launching with a 20% discount.
